Why take the PSAT?<\/p>\n
1. It’s a great practice for other standardized testing.<\/p>\n
2. There are scholarships associated with this test through the National
\nMerit Scholarship Organization for those that score high on the PSAT.<\/p>\n
3. It will give you an idea of what areas to work on before the ACT.<\/p>\n
*Juniors, Seniors and Parents* – there is a Financial Aid Planning meeting
\non Monday, September 17 at 6:00 p.m in the HS auditorium. This is a great
\nopportunity for parents and students to learn more about the financial aid
\nprocess.<\/p>\n
*Guest passes for Homecoming* may be picked up in the HS office and are due
\nback by 9\/21. NO EXCEPTIONS.<\/p>\n
*Any 11th or 12th grade student* interested in doing a co-op in
\nManufacturing please stop in the counseling office and sign up. The
\ndeadline to sign up will be Wednesday, September 19th.<\/p>\n

On September 21st during enhancement there will be a Girls’ Soccer meeting
\nin the cafeteria and a Baseball meeting in the auditorium. If interested
\nremember to sign up on Rebentify under Mrs. Spielvogel.<\/p>\n

Concussions have become an epidemic in the United States, with millions of
\nmild traumatic brain injuries happening each year. On Friday, September 21st
\n National Concussion Awareness Day
\n\u00ae
\nwill raise awareness about the importance of recognizing a concussion,
\ntreating it appropriately, and supporting the injured. According to a poll
\nby the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center nearly 9 out of 10 adults in
\nthe U.S. can’t correctly define a concussion. A concussion is a mild form
\nof brain injury and should be taken seriously. If your child suffers from a
\nconcussion, please let your nurses know. We can help with school
\naccommodations.<\/p>\nThe SFHS Music Boosters will be meeting on Monday, Sept 24 at 6 pm in
\neither the band or choir room. We will be discussing fundraisers and
\nactivities for this school year.<\/p>\n
