be able to help chose the movie! The two movies selected are *The Odd Life
of Timothy Green* and *Matilda*. To vote for the movie being watched on

the office for you to put your vote in. Voting will start today September

*Future Falconettes Dance Mini-Camp for girls in Grades 5-8:*

*The Sheboygan Falls Varsity Dance Team will be holding a Dance Mini-Camp
on the afternoon of Friday, October 17. Girls will learn a routine and
perform at the football halftime that night. The cost is $25 in advance or
$30 at the door and includes a T-shirt, Poms, and Pizza! Registration
forms have been sent home and additional forms are available in the
office. Forms must be returned to the school office by Wednesday, October
1 to receive the discounted price. No payment is due until check-in
on October 17.*

Also, some of the dance team members are making posters to advertise the
event. Would we be able to hang some up in the school?

Please let the teachers/staff know we REALLY appreciate their help. This
has been one of our most successful and fun fundraisers, and we couldn’t do
it without all of you. We don’t receive any funding from the school and
this fundraiser helps us pay for bussing and competition fees so the team
can compete.

SFMS students and staff – Student Council will be collecting soda tabs for
a local charity again this year. It’s never too soon to start saving those
tabs so your grade brings in the most tabs!

Attention Parents & Students in Grades 6-8: it’s that time of year again!
I will start running interaction groups next month. If you are interested
in one of the groups explained below, stop in the office and get a form to
fill out (or print it from the blog on my website). Forms are due
back by October
3rd. Thank you, Mr.U.

Registration is open now for Expanding Your Horizons 2014, a 6-8th grade
girls STEM conference!

“Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) is a one-day conference held at the
University of Wisconsin-Madison for around 400 middle school aged (6-8th
grade) girls. As part of a small group, each girl attends three career
sessions as well as the opening session and closing activity. Registration
is currently open for student participants for the 2014 conference which
will take place on November 8, 2014 at UW-Madison.

EYH helps girls learn about the wide range of career options for women in
science, technology, engineering and math. Through hands-on workshops and
visits to work places, they find out what it’s like to work in different
careers. Student participants interact with professional women who work in
a variety of fields and meet other girls who share their interests.

For more information on the conference, registration fees, and to view the
registration forms please see our website:http://eyh.wisc.edu/parents.htm.
A limited number of scholarships are available.

*Wellness Tip from the Nurse:*
We’ve all heard breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It’s also
the meal teenagers are most likely to skip.

Studies show teens who eat breakfast are more attentive in class, have more
energy and are less likely to be overweight than their peers who don’t eat
breakfast. Break the fast, break the rules. Who says a bowl of bran flakes
or a piece of toast is the only option? Fight bland breakfasts by thinking
outside the cereal box. You can grab some yogurt, fruit, protein bar, a
peanut butter sandwich or even left over pizza.
