Hello from the Lakeshore Community Healthcare, School Dental Program! This
dental program was utilized this past Fall in the Sheboygan Falls School
District.

Lakeshore Community Healthcare (LCHC) and the Sheboygan Falls School
District have partnered together to provide a dental clinic in the
elementary, middle, and high schools. This school program offers x-rays,
cleanings, exams, fillings, sealants and other dental services as needed,
for all students in the district who are NOT already established with
another dentist.

LCHC accepts private insurance and Medicaid/Badgercare. Help is available
for those students not covered by a dental insurance plan.

If you would like your child to take advantage of this opportunity, please
complete and return our bright green registration forms available in the
school offices or from the school nurses.

We plan to return for our clinic with the Sheboygan Falls schools starting
the week of March 19th. Please return completed forms to your child’s
teacher or to the school’s main office by March 1, 2017. If you have any
questions please call Clare Spaulding, LCHC School Dental Program
Coordinator, at 920-783-6633 <(920)%20783-6633>.

Throughout the month of January, we are celebrating the New Year with the
theme, “New Year- New You”! Since it is a new year for all of us, it is a
time that we can all start fresh and make the most of the upcoming year. A
lot of people set New Year’s resolutions for this reason. Have you thought
about setting a New Year’s Resolution or goal for yourself? What is
something that you have wanted to do, but have never done? What is
something you want to do to improve yourself in someway? Take some time
this month to think about how you can become a better version of yourself!
New year means New You!

Sincerely,

Your School Counselors

Ms. Stanke & Mr. Uselding

*National Novel Writing Month Stories *

In our first Falcon Time rotation, a number of SFMS students participated
in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWirMo). They spent nearly two months
outlining, writing, and editing stories – or the opening chapters of larger
pieces they are expanding. Some of the students who participated in
National Novel Writing Month would like to share their work with you.

Below are two links; one is to a document containing excerpts from several
NaNoWriMo stories. The other link is to a survey. Once you have had the
chance to read these previews of your classmates’ work, the survey will
allow you to cast your vote in a number of categories – including most
interesting characters, most interesting story excerpt, and more! If you
would like to vote, please read the excerpts and respond to the story by
January 25.

professional eye exams. Parents and staff can refer students to the school
nurse at any time during the school year for any concerns regarding a
student’s vision and hearing.

opportunity and experience for our students!

Sheboygan Falls Middle School students will have the opportunity to
participate in the annual *Talent Fest on Friday, January 12th, 2018, at
6:30PM in the middle school auditorium.* Students interested in
participating in the Talent Fest should begin to think about what type of
performance they wish to display. Students may perform in only one act
(unless it is a larger school organized ensemble), which can be either a
solo or group performance. Types of performances presented in the past
include singing, dancing, musical presentations, short skits, juggling, or
any act that displays a student’s talent. Now is the time to determine if
you wish to participate, in what way, and with whom. Performances will be
limited to 2 minutes. Students who elect to sing must be prepared to do so
without singing over the voice on a cd. Singers should include the name of
song they will perform on the permission slip and Mrs. Charbonneau will
provide a cd of the music for you to practice with. Parents, please assist
your child in assuring that the performance, music and lyrics, and costumes
are appropriate for our middle school audience. A printed copy of the
lyrics to music to be played or sung must be brought to the first rehearsal.

Students wishing to participate must be willing to thoroughly prepare and
practice at home. Participants *must attend either* of the scheduled
rehearsal dates, as indicated below. Acts must be well prepared, polished,
and ready to perform at the two rehearsals. The rehearsal dates are;

• *Monday, January 8th from 3:15-4:30PM*

*• Thursday, January 11th from 3:15-4:30PM*

The program begins at 6:30 PM in the auditorium, and will end at
approximately 8:00PM. Students should arrive at the auditorium at least 20
minutes prior to show time. The students must bring/wear their costume and
any props needed, unless they have elected to leave these items with
director after their final rehearsal date. Students must be seated in the
back of the auditorium, in show order, as predetermined by director.
