5th at 5:15pm for a class picture. Afterwards all can head to the HS for
the ceremony. *

Thursday or did not receive an information sheet, please stop in the office
to pick up a copy. Remember to turn in all your paperwork prior to the

Hello Sheboygan Falls Middle Students! Today, (Monday) is the very last
day to enter your Falcon Feathers for both the yearbook and the prize box.
We will announce winners Tuesday morning. If you win a yearbook, it will
be available for pick up the same day the rest of the yearbooks are passed

We will be having a volleyball parent/player informational meeting for all
eighth graders interested in playing volleyball in the fall on Monday, June
4th from 6:30-7:00pm in the HS gym to find out the summer schedule. We will
have open gym after from 7-8:30pm. Let Coach Twohig know if you have
questions.

*WHO? **Open to ALL *SFMS students going into grades 6 through 9!

*WHAT? Access to Study Island!* Study Island and your personalized
Learning Paths provides lessons and practice to keep your math, science,
and reading/language skills SHARP over the summer! You can also access
many other academic areas you are interested in, such as social
studies/history and science!

*WHEN?* *Anytime!* Participate on your own schedule between June 8th and
September 7th, 2018!

*WHERE? **Anywhere you have an Internet connection! * Access Study Island
at the public library or on your smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop
computer!

*WHY? Beat the summer slide or summer learning loss! *Research shows many
students experience learning loss when they are not engaged in educational
activities during the summer. Additionally, some score lower on
standardized tests at the end of the summer vacation than they do on the
*same* test at the beginning of summer vacation. Return to school on top of
your game!

*HOW? **Use your personal Study Island login and password!* All students
have a login and password, which has been used in various classrooms
throughout the school year. If you’re not sure what yours is, contact Mrs.
Fiorini at [email protected].

*TO PARTICIPATE… **JUST LOGIN and BEGIN! *Mrs. Fiorini will monitor student
participation remotely.

*ANYTHING ELSE? **Yes! How about cool prizes?* Student time and progress on
their personalized Learning Paths will be monitored over the summer. Prizes
will be awarded at the start of the new school year! For more info on

Looking for some enthusiastic parent/staff volunteers to help with the
final stages for our ceramic mosaic that will go into the NEW MIDDLE
SCHOOL! Zero art talent is required. 😉 Help is needed with glazing,
putting adhesive on back of tiles, and grouting. Work days/evenings
are: May 30, June 4, June 11 (yes, school will be out June 11, but I’ll
have access to the shop room where we meet)

can work out times to fit your schedule! I will need LOTS OF help getting

*2018-2019 Cross Country Sign Up*

Attention 6th and 7th grade runners, it’s time to start thinking about the
upcoming cross country season. If you love running, being outdoors, and
improving your fitness while having fun then cross country is for you!
Practices will begin the first week of school (all completed paperwork
would need to be turned in by first practice). *All those interested
should sign up in the office. *More details to follow. Any questions see

*Jazz Ensemble* students are reminded to turn in your Standard of
Excellence Jazz Ensemble Method book (Bossa Madeira).

If any students are interested in learning about the weight room, bio
mechanics or just interested in staying fit and active, the coaching staff
at Sheboygan Falls High School would like to help you out. The athletic
program will be running a class to go over basics of bio mechanics and
lifting weights. No prior knowledge is necessary. Because we are getting to
the end of the school year the coaching staff is trying to find a time that
will work for all athletes interested. Please contact coach Henney with
your time available during the beginning of summer.

On Tuesday, June 5th, the 7th grade class will participate in our annual
field trip. At 12:30 PM we will be viewing *A Wrinkle in Time* (PG) at
Marcus Theater in Sheboygan. We will be arriving early (12: 10) for
concessions. The concession stand will be open for students to make their
own purchases. We will be returning to school between 2:30-2:45.

*Auditions for 2018 Fall Musical*

Mark your calendars!

Auditions for the 2018 fall musical will be held:

June 1, 4-6 pm (MS band room)

No need to prepare. Audition materials will be taught at each audition.
Students will only need to attend one of the audition times. Sign-up on the
HS Choir room door.

The show for this fall will be announced on May 22, at the Fine Arts
Banquet. Audition packets will be available in the HS and MS office
starting on May 23.

*END OF YEAR MEDICATION PROCEDURE:*

Parents are reminded that they are expected to pick up their son or
daughter’s medication at the end of the school year. Unless the student’s
medication form indicated that they may carry and administer their own
medication, *the student may not transport their own medication home.*
Medication
must be picked up prior to the last day of school. We cannot store any
medication over the summer with the move to the new Middle School. All
remaining medication will be properly disposed of no later than June 7,
2018.

*6th Grade, due to many conflicts on the playground there will be no
football allowed in the morning or at lunch recess time for the remainder
of the year. *

*Let us show some community and school spirit by participating in special
Wednesdays! Each Wed. for the remainder of the year, we will have a fun
theme. Play along and have some fun!*

*Summer Opportunities *

*Mead Public Library’s 2018 ACUITY Cool Picks Summer Library Program for
Kids!* This year’s theme *Libraries Rock*. The program begins Monday,
May 14 and
ends Tuesday, September 4. All students *going into* grade 6-12 are
eligible. When a participant reads a book, he or she will fill out a short
report form, which is online. Participants can turn in up to 30 reports
during the program. Each report completed will be submitted for a chance to
win one of our many prizes. The grand prizes are an Xbox One, a mountain
bike, a Kindle Fire, or a HDTV!! Stop in the Middle School Library to pick
up a brochure. Good Luck!!

*Attention Musicians!*

This year’s annual LAKELAND UNIVERSITY MUSIC CAMP is *July 22-28th* for all
middle and high school musicians. Lakeland’s camp offers band, choir,
orchestra, and piano ensembles along with a variety of electives such as
Jazz Band, Show Choir, Yoga, Bucket Drumming, Comedy Improvisation, and
many more! It is a great opportunity to further develop music skills with
some of the best teachers and musicians in the state.

*Basketball News!!* Sheboygan Falls’ Boys basketball camp for boys
entering 4th grade through 9th grade is *June 25th through June 28th*.
Learn the fundamentals of shooting, dribbling, passing, scoring, and
playing defense from the Sheboygan Falls’ basketball coaching staff and
players. Camp forms are located in the office or you can pick one up from
Mr. Frohling at the middle school.

PLEASE BRING A BASKETBALL FOR YOUR SON/DAUGHTER TO USE

Will focus on developing players’ overall physical and mental skills
through teaching fundamentals and drill work. Skill development will
include ball handling, shooting, scoring moves, footwork, finishing around
the basket, and defense. We will also focus on intangible aspects of the
game from our experiences as college and professional basketball players
including: hard work, perseverance, leadership, toughness,
teamwork, aggressiveness, and academics. We believe spring and summer is
the most important time of the year for individual improvement so we hope
this can be a great start to the offseason and give them drills to work on.

​This will not be a camp where we roll the balls out and let them play 5v5.
Kids play enough 5v5 in practice, open gyms, AAU, etc.. We want the kids
getting in the gym to focus on individual skill development in a hard
working, fun, and competitive environment.

​Having the privilege to work with University of Wisconsin coaches, NBA
coaches/trainers, and European professional coaches, there are many skills
and drills I have been able to learn to improve as a player. The consistent
theme will always be the fundamentals and little details to improve
individual and team performance on both ends of the court.

As summer approaches we fill our calendars with fun, vacations, relaxations
and appointments. As we close the current school year and prepare for the
2018-2019 school year please make time to get all the necessary
appointments done ahead of time.

Doctors visits: physicals, Immunizations, medication forms, etc

Dental visits: see your family dentist *or *fill out paperwork to
participate in the School Dental Program we offer here at school.

Vision: be on the lookout for squinting, complaints about blurry vision,
headaches, worsening performance at school, short attention span, losing
one’s place when reading, avoidance with reading, and turning head from
side to side when looking at something.

Take time to schedule these appointments ahead of time to avoid the rush
and stress at the beginning of a school year. We want your children at
school, ready to learn. Please contact your school nurses if you have any
questions or need help finding access to care.
