Please remember to make sure you to communicate your children’s
immunizations to your school nurses. If you are new to the district, or
have a student entering 4k, 5k,or 6th grade you need to provide a copy of
updated immunization records.

We also want to remind you of our policy of when not send your children to
school. This information is also on the district website and in the
handbooks

Cold/Sore Throat/Cough: A child with a severe cold and hacking cough should
remain home and rest even though they may not have a fever. If your child
complains of a sore throat and has no other symptoms he/she may go to
school. If white spots can be seen in the back of the throat or a fever is
present, keep the child home and call your physician

Stomach Ache/Vomiting/ Diarrhea: Contact your doctor if your child has a
stomach ache which is persistent enough to limit his/her activity. If
vomiting occurs, keep your child at home until he/she can keep solid food
down. A child with diarrhea should be kept home. Contact your doctor if
improvement does not occur.

Fever: A fever is a warning that all is not right. NO child with a fever of
100 degrees (without fever reducing agents) should be sent to school. Do
not allow your child to return to school until he/she has been fever free
for 24 hours.

Rash: A rash may be the first sign of one of the many childhood’s
illnesses, such as chicken pox. A rash may cover the entire body or may
appear in only one area. Do not send your child with a rash to school until
your physician has said it is safe to do so.

*FIRST LEGO League Robotics and Research Team*

Does helping to find a solution to a real-world problem sound interesting?

Would you like to work with your friends and classmates to research, share

and present your solution to this problem? Does the idea of using Legos to

build and program a robot to move, grab, push, pull or carry things on a

game board sound like fun? If so, then *FIRST LEGO League Robotics and

Research Team* is for you!

Applications were available at school supply drop off. If you did not
receive
an application then, applications are available in the middle school office.

For both new and returning members, completed applications need to be turned
in to the office by the end of the day, Friday, September 6th. (This
Friday!)

The members of the teams will be announced on Tuesday, September 10th.

Questions can be directed to Coach Beltran at [email protected]

*BEAT THE SUMMER SLIDE!*

*WHO? **Open to ALL *SFMS students going into grades 6 through 9!

*WHAT?** PRODIGY MATH!* All current SFMS students have their own Prodigy
Math Account, which provides them access to grade level, curriculum aligned
math skill games that are both educational and FUN! Keep YOUR math skills
sharp over the summer and have fun doing it!

*WHY? ** Beat the summer slide or summer learning loss!* Research shows
many students experience learning loss when they are not engaged in

standardized tests at the end of the summer vacation than they do on the
same test at the beginning of summer vacation. Return to school on top of
your game!

*HOW? Use your personal PRODIGY MATH login and password!* All students
already have a login and password, which has been used in their math
classroom throughout the school year. Your student will have emailed
his/her login and password to their school email address.

*TO PARTICIPATE… **JUST LOGIN and BEGIN! *

*ANYTHING ELSE? **Yes! Parents can create a FREE parent account and link it
to their student’s account.* This allows parents to receive emailed updates
and reports on your child’s progress. *Additionally, parents have the
option to add additional children to their account for a fee, if desired. *

*END OF YEAR MEDICATION PROCEDURE: *Parents are reminded that they are
expected to pick up their son or daughter’s medication at the end of the

Hello – This is a message from your Falcon Way! Wednesday, May 5th will be
the last Falcon Way drawing. There will be two drawings. The drawings will

your Falcon Feathers. The Falcon box will be located on the stage starting
Monday morning through Wednesday 8th hour. We will announce the winners
Thursday Morning. If an 8th grader wins the yearbook, you can pick it up in
the office before yearbook signing. All other winners can pick their
