Message from Lego League Coach Adam Beltran:

Lego League season will start Monday September 18th. Here is the link to

This coming season, as well as seasons in the future will have the meetings
held at the high school. FYI – meetings will be held on Mondays and
Thursdays after school, with optional meetings (if we decide to have them)
would be on Saturdays. Applications are due by this Friday (September 15th)
at 9:00 pm. The first meeting with parents and students who are selected to
the team will be Monday, September 18th at 6:00 pm. Regular meetings would
then start Thursday, September 21st.

Diversity Club -We will be Celebrating the end of the school year next
Monday, June 5th! If you have been to any of the Diversity Club Meetings,
please come and celebrate a successful first year of our club! Celebrations
and Observances during the month of June:

Pride Month- to recognize the impact that LGBTQ+ individuals have had on
the world.

Loving Day (June 12th)- Marks the anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court
ruling of the 1967 Loving v. Virginia case that legalized interracial
marriage in the United States.

Juneteenth (June 19th)- Also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day,
honors the day in 1865 when slaves in Texas and Louisiana finally heard
they were free, two months after the end of the Civil War. Next Meeting
Monday, June 5th in room 226, 3:15-4:30.

A note from Nurse Deanna Timler: As I complete my first year with the
Sheboygan Falls School District, I wanted to send out a note of gratitude
to all of the families. I truly enjoy working with your children and look
forward to many more years to come. Here are a few reminders for the last
few days of school:Students with seasonal allergies: There has been an
increase of health room visits related to seasonal allergy symptoms.
Please remember to have students take allergy medication prior to school to
help them alleviate allergy symptoms.

Sunscreen: Many activities are taking place outside this week. Please
remind students to apply sunscreen in the morning. We do not have
sunscreen at school.

Medication pick-up: All medications need to be picked up before the end of
the day on Thursday, June 8th. If you would like me to dispose of leftover
medication, please let me know. You can contact me by email at

Lakeland University Summer Music Camp Band, Choir, Orchestra, Piano

MEDICATION PROCEDURE:

Parents are expected to pick up their son or daughter’s medication at the
end of the school year. Unless the student’s medication form indicates that
they may carry and administer their own medication (EPI pens, inhalers,
emergency medications, etc.), the student may not transport their own
medication home. Medication must be picked up prior to the last day of
school (June 8th). We can not store any medication over the summer.

8th Grade Band & Choir: We are so excited about our upcoming opportunity to
participate in the 2023 Beyond The Notes Music Festival scheduled for Thursday,
May 25, 2023 at the Kalahari Resort and Convention Center in Wisconsin
Dells. Our students will have the opportunity to listen to and perform for
an ensemble of their peers, work with a clinician to grow their musician
skills, and spend time in either the Water Park or Adventure Park.

Diversity Club -We will be Celebrating Asian Pacific Heritage Month and
Mental Health Awareness Month throughout May! Diversity Club will be
learning about different Asian cultures and spreading awareness on mental
health issues concerning middle schoolers.

Asian Pacific Heritage Fact:The month of May was chosen to commemorate the
immigration of the first Japanese to the United States on May 7, 1843, and
to mark the anniversary of the completion of the transcontinental railroad
on May 10, 1869. The majority of the workers who laid the tracks were
Chinese immigrants.

Mental Health Awareness: In 2021, more than 4 in 10 (42%) students felt
persistently sad or hopeless and nearly one-third (29%) experienced poor
mental health. These feelings were found to be more common among LGBQ+
students, female students, and students across racial and ethnic groups. (

A note from the library: It’s hard to believe, but we are coming to the
close of the school year! That means we need to start bringing our book
check-outs to an end. Your final day to check out books will be Friday, May
19th. All books will need to be returned no later than June 2nd. If you
need book suggestions for the summer, stop in the library to get a list so
you can check them out at the Public Library. Thank you for your help!

The 5th Grade Spring Music Informance has been rescheduled for Thursday,
May 4th at Noon in the gym and will highlight 5th grade music skills.
Parents/Guardians are asked to arrive no earlier than 11:45 am to check in
and find their seats.

Diversity Club Featured We will be Celebrating Autism Awareness Month

throughout April! Diversity Club will also be discussing living with
diabetes and

other autoimmune disorders at our April Meetings.

Autism Fact #3 and 4: ASD is about 4 times more likely in boys than girls.

Caddie Program at Pine Hills Country Club: Boys and girls ages 13 and over
are invited to attend Pine Hills caddie program training. Caddie Training
is May 5, 6, 12 & 13 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Attendees are required to
attend 3 of the 4 training days.Parents are asked to attend the first 20
minutes on May 5 to learn about our caddie program.

Caddying offers numerous opportunities to learn lifelong traits.For

We have 5 meetings each school year and a bit of communication/work for

March! Diversity Club will be “commemorating and encouraging the study,
observance and celebration of the vital role of women in American history.”

Featured Woman: Greta Thunberg

Swedish environmental activist who is known for challenging world leaders
to take immediate action for climate change mitigation. At 15, she
organized a school climate strike movement under the name Fridays for
Future. After Thunberg addressed the 2018 United Nations Climate Change
Conference, student strikes took place every week all around the world.

A Note from Mrs. Winkler and Mrs. Stowers: Hello 8th Grade Band & Choir
Families,We are so excited about our upcoming opportunity to participate in
the 2023 Beyond The Notes Music Festival scheduled for Thursday, May 25,
2023 at the Kalahari Resort and Convention Center in Wisconsin Dells. Our
students will have the opportunity to listen to and perform for an ensemble
of their peers, work with a clinician to grow their musician skills, and
spend time in either the Water Park or Adventure Park. Attached you will
