We will depart SFMS at 8:15 and return<br \/>\nduring 8th hour. Students who wish to order a lunch from school need to<br \/>\nhave their forms in by this Wednesday, 11\/3. We are also still looking for<br \/>\na few parent helpers. Please contact Ms. Probst if you are available.<\/p>\n<p>Girl scout meeting: 6th and 7th grade girls. There is a girl scout meeting<br \/>\nafter school Tuesday in the commons area right after school. Thanks for your help with<br \/>\nthis!<\/p>\n<p>EDIBLE ENGINEERING~ It\u2019s time for our annual \u201cGingerbread House\u201d building<br \/>\ncontest!<\/p>\n<p>Gather a team of friends, plan your project, collect your edible building<br \/>\nmaterials and be part of this SFMS tradition!<\/p>\n<p>This project encourages cooperative, creative, and artistic expression, and<br \/>\nis a great way to get into the holiday spirit! Students will form teams of<br \/>\n3 to 5 SFMS friends, then together design and build their edible structure<br \/>\nat home. Team entries should then be brought to school the morning of<br \/>\nThursday, November 18th. The finished structures will be judged by our SFMS<br \/>\nstaff, with the four most creative and well-executed going on to compete in<br \/>\nthe Great Gingerbread Village Holiday Festival at the Waelderhaus in<br \/>\nKohler. Winners will be announced the afternoon of Monday, November 22nd.<br \/>\nAll remaining entries should be picked up and brought home at the end of<br \/>\nthe day on either Monday, November 22nd or Tuesday, November 23rd. This enrichment opportunity is sponsored by Mrs. Fiorini<br \/>\nand encourages cooperative, creative, and artistic expression.<\/p>\n<p>Requirements for participation in this activity include the following;<\/p>\n<p>On your own, AT HOME, and with a team of friends\u2026<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>The goal of the activity is to design and build a \u201cgingerbread\u201d<br \/>\nstructure- something that \u201cpeople would use.\u201d<br \/>\n&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>The structure must be constructed out of entirely edible materials, (not<br \/>\nnecessarily gingerbread) with the exception of glue and toothpicks, which<br \/>\ncan be used in addition to frosting to adhere to the other edible<br \/>\ndecorations.<br \/>\n&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Each structure will require thin plywood or some other type of sturdy<br \/>\nbase, not bigger than 2\u2019 X 2\u2019&#8230;strong and sturdy,but not too heavy.<br \/>\n&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Students should form 3-5 person teams who together plan and design the<br \/>\nstructure, individual entries do not qualify.<br \/>\n&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Teams will work on their projects on their own time AT HOME, between now<br \/>\nand Nov. 17th. Students will NOT build at school as in past years.<br \/>\n&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>STUDENTS should do the work, with parents assisting only with ideas and<br \/>\nmaterials, building must be done by the students to qualify.<br \/>\n&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Entries should be brought to Mrs. Fiorini upon arrival the morning of<br \/>\nMONDAY, NOV. 18th. Instructions of where to bring your entries will be<br \/>\nposted outside of the main office!  Each entry must include the bottom<br \/>\nportion of this letter, with the FULL NAMES and GRADE LEVELS of each<br \/>\nteam member, as well as a TITLE for their entry. (Ex. Santa\u2019s Workshop,<br \/>\nThe Firehouse, Lambeau Field, Cozy Cabin in the Woods\u2026)<\/p>\n<p>\nSFMS staff members will view and vote to select the top four entries to be<br \/>\nentered in the Great Gingerbread Village Holiday Festival held at the<br \/>\nWaelderhaus in Kohler during the month of December. Winners will be<br \/>\nannounced on Monday, Nov. 22nd in the afternoon.  All remaining entries<br \/>\nshould be picked up and brought home on either Monday, 11\/22 or Tuesday,<br \/>\n11\/23.
