\nSolo & Ensemble: We have 14 singers and 25 instrumentalists performing at
\nthis year\u2019s Solo & Ensemble Music Festival in Kiel on Saturday, February
\n25th.<\/p>\n

\nBaseball Registration: for the SF Rec Department 4K-8th Grade Baseball and
\n4K-9th Grade Softball programs for the 2023 summer season. Please note that
\nthe signup deadline is Wednesday, February 15th.<\/p>\n

The form for the youth baseball camp put on by the SFHS Baseball Team in
\nApril is also attached.<\/p>\n

\nTrack and field: practice begins April 3rd. Sign up for 7th and 8th graders
\nbegins Wednesday, February 8th, until March 1st. If we do not meet the
\nlimit of 60 runners then sixth grade students may sign up. Please complete
\nall of the paperwork by April 3rd. Please sign up using Classlink. If you
\nhave not had a physical, it is best to schedule one as soon as possible.

\nJosten will be here February 14th.This will be the last day of club and
\ngroup photos for the Yearbook. These will include the following: 8th grade
\nclass, Yearbook Club, Track and Field, Choir, Band\/Jazz Band, Musical
\nparticipants, Makerspace, Diversity Club, Student Council, Trap and any new
\nstudents or staff that did not get an individual portrait taken in the
\nfall. Students\/Clubs will be called to the social stairs when it is their
\nturn.<\/p>\n

\nIt\u2019s time for Makerspace! If you like crafts, projects, working with your
\nhands, and simple circuits join us for Makerspace! We will meet in Mrs.
\nCotter\u2019s room on Tuesdays and Thursdays right after school until 4:15.Anyone
\ninterested in joining Makerspace is still welcome! Stop up in Mrs.
\nCotter’s room (Rm 247 in the 8th grade neighborhood) after school to
\nparticipate…upcoming dates are 2\/9, 2\/14, and 2\/16 from 3:10-4:15.<\/p>\n

Business Expo: It is that time of year again! The 7th grade needs your help
\nwith supplies for the Business Expo.Thank you to those of you who have
\nalready donated supplies to our 7th graders for our Business Expo project.
\nWe have narrowed down the list to these specific items that we are in need
\nof. If you have any of these items lying around your house please bring
\nthem to Mrs. Harms’s room: Egg cartons, glass jars, sporks, empty scotch
\ntape rolls, paint, CDs, ice cream buckets, thread, soda tabs, metal jar
\nlids (from pickle jars), tin cans, magnets, empty soda bottles, broken
\ncrayons, scrapbook paper, straws, popsicle sticks, and snack\/cereal\/butter
\nboxes. Thank you!<\/p>\n

Trap: registration is open Wednesday February 1st till Sunday March 19th.
\nTrap is open to students 6th grade through 12th grade. For returning
\nstudents\/athletes you can register through the Wisconsin High School State
\nClay Target League, any new students please have your parents contact me,

Diversity Club -We will be Celebrating Black History Month throughout
\nFebruary! Diversity Club will feature a young individual from the
\nblack community that are present day history makers!<\/p>\n

Featured Youth: Thaddeus Coates,<\/p>\n

also known as Hippy Potter<\/p>\n

Hippy Potter is a model and illustrator, with vivid art that focuses on
\nbeloved cartoon characters reimagined through Thaddeus\u2019s eyes. He describes
\nhis art style as \u201cafrofuturistic,\u201d sharing on his website that his goal is
\nto \u201credefine social stereotypes through provocative and vibrant images.\u201d (

\nMiddle School Families: Does your family enjoy getting crafty? Looking<\/p>\n

for a fun experience to do with your child? The SFMS PTA is hosting an art
\nparty on Tuesday, February 21st.We are excited to partner with Mrs.
\nFischer, our middle school art teacher, to offer a parent (or other adult
\nfamily member) and student art night fundraiser for the MS PTA! Each
\nattendee will have the opportunity to paint a bowl or plate of your
\nchoosing which will then be glazed<\/p>\n

for your student to pick up at a later date. Only 3 more spots available!<\/p>\n
