8th Grade Band & Choir: We are so excited about our upcoming opportunity to
\nparticipate in the 2023 Beyond The Notes Music Festival scheduled for Thursday,
\nMay 25, 2023 at the Kalahari Resort and Convention Center in Wisconsin
\nDells. Our students will have the opportunity to listen to and perform for
\nan ensemble of their peers, work with a clinician to grow their musician
\nskills, and spend time in either the Water Park or Adventure Park.<\/p>\n

Diversity Club -We will be Celebrating Asian Pacific Heritage Month and
\nMental Health Awareness Month throughout May! Diversity Club will be
\nlearning about different Asian cultures and spreading awareness on mental
\nhealth issues concerning middle schoolers.<\/p>\n

Asian Pacific Heritage Fact:The month of May was chosen to commemorate the
\nimmigration of the first Japanese to the United States on May 7, 1843, and
\nto mark the anniversary of the completion of the transcontinental railroad
\non May 10, 1869. The majority of the workers who laid the tracks were
\nChinese immigrants.<\/p>\n

Mental Health Awareness: In 2021, more than 4 in 10 (42%) students felt
\npersistently sad or hopeless and nearly one-third (29%) experienced poor
\nmental health. These feelings were found to be more common among LGBQ+
\nstudents, female students, and students across racial and ethnic groups. (
