As you are aware, the voters of the School District of Sheboygan Falls<\/div>\n
overwhelmingly approved the November 8<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/td>\n\n
<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n
referendum question to \u00a0build a new middle school on the site adjacent to theSheboygan Falls Elementary School.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

What’s next?<\/strong><\/div>\n
Work has begun to detail plans for the new middle school. At a very high level, the general timeline for building the new middle school is:<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Now-April: Architectural design<\/div>\n
May\/June-August 2018: Groundbreaking and construction<\/div>\n
August 2018: Open new school<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
What happens to the existing middle school?<\/strong><\/div>\n
While the existing middle school will continue in use until the new school is opened, a\u00a0critical part of that plan includes repurposing the current middle school building.\u00a0First, the Board intends to offer the building for sale. If the\u00a0building does not sell, it will be demolished and converted into green space.\u00a0We know neighbors of the existing middle school, staff and others in the community may have questions about this process.<\/div>\n

Therefore a Community Conversation, open to all, will be:<\/strong><\/div>\n

Students at SFES having been learning about computer programming during the past couple of months. Mr. Nikson, our Director of Instructional Technology, has been visiting classrooms to teach students about coding through the use of music. Mrs. Pilgrim’s friendship lunch bunch had a fun time reading the story, Turkey Trouble<\/em>\u00a0and making their turkey crafts together. The students shared their funny reasons for saving the turkey such as by eating more bacon!<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/th>\n

HELPING HANDS<\/b><\/div>\n
Some fourth grade students presented Mrs. Bub with the option of helping to clean-up the lunch room as part of a service challenge. The kindergarten students made gingerbread houses with their reading buddies from third grade. Dear Falcon Parents,<\/div>\n
The Sheboygan Falls School District Nurses have been notified by the Health Department that there has been an increase of Pertussis in Sheboygan County. Although we do not have a case in our community, this is a good opportunity to review your immunization records and your child’s immunization records. The Center for Disease Control recommends that children, ages 11 and up (6th grade) and adults, should receive a Tdap booster. It not only gives a tetanus booster but gives a booster of acellular Pertussis.<\/div>\n
