Our building held a successful medical drill in February.\u00a0 While students did not have an active role in this particular drill, it was a great opportunity to review why we stay out of the hallways so medical professionals can get to the person that needs help.\u00a0 It was also an opportunity for our staff medical response team to practice accessing life-saving tools and steps in a medical emergency.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our drill for March will be an<\/span> ALICE-informed building safety drill<\/span><\/a>, with a tornado drill scheduled for <\/span>Tornado Awareness<\/span><\/a> Month in April.<\/span><\/p>\n

The inter-district public school Open Enrollment program allows parents to apply for their children to attend public school in a school district other than the one in which they reside or to remain in their current district in the event that they move out of the district before the start of the 2024-25 school year (Moving? See\u00a0<\/span>HERE<\/span><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>for more information on remaining in the District through the school year).\u00a0Open Enrollment will allow student(s) to continue attending school in the School District of Sheboygan Falls. Please call Lisa Berg at 920-467-7893 for additional information or check the Department of Public Instruction Website at:\u00a0<\/span>https:\/\/dpi.wi.gov\/open-enrollment<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(also check the 2024-25 Open Enrollment Regular Application Period Brochure).<\/span><\/p>\n

There is no tuition cost for students participating in the Open Enrollment program, but parents are responsible for transporting their student(s) to and from school.<\/span><\/p>\n

The open enrollment period for the 2024-25 school year is from February 5th until 4:00 p.m. on April 30th, 2024.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Applications must be done on the DPI (Department of Public Instruction) website at\u00a0<\/span>https:\/\/dpi.wi.gov\/open-enrollment<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0A link to this site will also be available on the school web site during the application period at:\u00a0<\/span>www.sheboyganfalls.k12.wi.us<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0The DPI website will be active from February 5th until 4:00 p.m. on April 30th, 2024.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Cyberbullying is\u00a0the use of technology to harass, threaten, embarrass, or target another person. Online threats and mean, aggressive, or rude texts, tweets, posts, or messages all count, as does posting personal information, pictures, or videos designed to hurt or embarrass someone else.\u00a0 According to the Pew Research Center, “nearly half of U.S.\u00a0Teens have been bullied or harassed online, with physical appearance being seen as a relatively common reason why.”\u00a0 Older teen girls are especially likely to report being targeted by online abuse overall and because of their appearance.<\/p>\n
