For the second time in the past three years, we have presented the AAA PROMise program to our 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students.<\/div>\n
AAA PROMise aims to reduce the number of youth under the age of 21 injured or killed in alcohol or drug-related car crashes, with an emphasis on prom through graduation season which is typically when many crashes occur.<\/div>\n
AAA PROMise asks teens to make the responsible decisions: \u00a0never to get behind the wheel impaired and to make sure their friends do the same.<\/div>\n
Through AAA PROMise, teens and their parents are encouraged to openly communicate about the dangers of underage drinking, drug use and impaired driving.<\/div>\n
During our school assembly, we shared several teen-related statistics<\/a> with the students. Students also viewed a video in which real accident victims and survivors<\/div>\n
shared their stories pertaining to alcohol or drug related accidents. We then give students the opportunity to take the pledge by signing the pledge board (see picture below).<\/div>\n
