With this learning tool, our goal is to boost 21st\u00a0century skills, personalize content for our\u00a0students, challenge them with complex tasks, and enhance their ability to challenge\u00a0themselves.<\/div>\n

Welcome Back Students!\u00a0 Sheboygan Falls High School staff are excited to begin collaborating with students to create countless valuable learning experiences. Many exceptional experiences are provided every day at school!<\/p>\n
Student attendance is critical in order for a student to be provided the quality instruction and resources necessary to achieve success this school year and beyond. The\u00a0following are seven facts about school attendance provided by the national organization, Attendance Works:<\/div>\n
\n
    \n
  1. Absenteeism in the first month of school can predict poor attendance throughout the school year. Half the students who miss 2-4 days in September go on to miss nearly a month of school.<\/li>\n
  2. An estimated 5 million to 7.5 million US students miss nearly a month of school each year.<\/li>\n
  3. Absenteeism and its ill effects start early.\u00a0 One in ten kindergarten and first grade students are chronically absent.\u00a0 Poor attendance can influence whether children read proficiently by the end of third grade.<\/li>\n
  4. By 6th grade, chronic absence becomes a leading indicator that a student will drop out of high school.<\/li>\n
  5. Research shows that missing 10 percent of the school year, or about eighteen days of school, negatively affects a student’s academic performance.\u00a0 That’s just two days a month!\u00a0 Missing 10 percent of the school year would be considered a case of chronic absenteeism.<\/li>\n
  6. The academic impact of missing that much school is the same whether the absences are excused or unexcused.\u00a0 Suspensions also add to lost time in the classroom.<\/li>\n
  7. When students improve their attendance rates, they improve their academic prospects and chances for graduating.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
