Hello MS Families,<\/span><\/p>\n

We are already past the halfway point of the third quarter, a great time to log into Infinite Campus and keep up to date with your child(ren)’s academic progress.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

As a reminder, the MS \u201cShowcase Night\u201d is next week Thursday, March 6th, this is in lieu of the traditional 10-minute traditional spring conferences.\u00a0 The students and staff are excited to share the curriculum that has been covered throughout the school year.\u00a0 Students will be taking their families on a tour throughout the building, going through the different classes they currently have for the second semester.\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During the \u201cShowcase Night\u201d there will be an opportunity to purchase dinner (walking tacos) with all proceeds going towards future field trips. Please complete <\/span>THIS WALKING TACO SURVEY<\/span><\/strong><\/a> by Friday, February 28th at noon so that we may appropriately plan for the evening. <\/span><\/p>\n

Single Referendum Question Proposed to Address Critical Needs & School Improvements<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

As previously communicated, there will be a single referendum question on the April 1, 2025 ballot addressing the <\/span>most urgent space and critical capital improvement needs at the elementary school and the safety, aging building systems, and outdated, inefficient learning spaces at the high school.<\/p>\n

In direct response to voter feedback, the revised facilities plan has been reduced to a not-to-exceed total project cost of $70 million. The School Board has eliminated the second question proposed in November 2024, which included building a new auxiliary gym, new multi-sport field, and new track for $21.5 million. They have also reduced the first question focused on elementary and high school improvements by more than $8 million by removing space for childcare and further prioritizing projects at both buildings.<\/p>\n

The proposed $70 million project includes the highest-priority projects, focused on providing space at the Elementary School, investing in existing buildings, and improving learning environments.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

In February, the Middle School conducted an evacuation drill.\u00a0 An evacuation drill could be used for a water break, electrical issue, or another mechanical malfunction.\u00a0 The drill consisted of the MS students walking over to the ES gym.\u00a0 Students and staff did a great job of taking the drill seriously and minimizing time out of the classroom.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The inter-district public school Open Enrollment program allows parents to apply for their children to attend public school in a school district other than the one in which they reside or to remain in their current district in the event that they move out of the district before the start of the 2025-26 school year (Moving? See\u00a0<\/span>HERE<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>for more information on remaining in the District through the school year).\u00a0Open Enrollment will allow student(s) to continue attending school in the School District of Sheboygan Falls. Please call Lisa Berg at 920-467-7893 for additional information or check the Department of Public Instruction Website at:\u00a0<\/span>https:\/\/dpi.wi.gov\/open-enrollment<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(also check the 2025-26 Open Enrollment Regular Application Period Brochure).<\/span><\/p>\n

There is no tuition cost for students participating in the Open Enrollment program, but parents are responsible for transporting their student(s) to and from school.<\/span><\/p>\n

The open enrollment period for the 2025-26 school year is from February 3rd until 4:00 p.m. on April 30th, 2025.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Applications must be done on the DPI (Department of Public Instruction) website at\u00a0<\/span>https:\/\/dpi.wi.gov\/open-enrollment<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0A link to this site will also be available on the school web site during the application period at:\u00a0<\/span>www.sheboyganfalls.k12.wi.us<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0The DPI website will be active from February 3rd until 4:00 p.m. on April 30th, 2025.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
