Sheboygan Falls School District Celebrates American Education Week November 17-21, 2014
Monday, November 17: Kick Off Day
Announcements will proclaim the start to American Education Week. This week has been celebrated the week prior to Thanksgiving week since 1921 "…for the purpose of informing the public of the accomplishments and needs of the public schools and to secure the cooperation and support of the public in meeting those needs." source = www.nea.org
Tuesday, November 18: Academic Gear Day
Staff members are encouraged to wear sweatshirts, buttons, etc. that promote a school (high school, university, etc.) that they, or a child of theirs, has attended. Staff members are also encouraged to set aside a few minutes of each class period to talk to their students about the importance of education in their own lives and their experiences in education.
Wednesday, November 19: Education Support Professionals Day
On this day, we honor the secretaries, classroom aides, custodial and maintenance people, cafeteria workers, bus drivers, and others who provide invaluable services to schools. To show how much we VALUE our support staff, please wear GREEN.
Thursday, November 20: Falcon Education Pride Day
Staff and students wear Purple and Gold to show pride in Falcon Education. Students are encouraged to write a thank you note to a teacher or support staff, either present or former. These notes can be dropped off at the office for delivery.
Friday, November 21: Treat Each Other Day
All staff are encouraged to contribute treats in the staff lounge at each building to "treat each other" and show one another that You Matter!
The 4K staff has been working on setting up a Go Jo Day for one of our students that is battling leukemia. We have decided on next Friday (11/21). We are inviting everyone to wear orange in support of Jo's battle. Anyone wearing orange is asked to give a small monetary donation, in the hopes of raising some money for his family to make the holidays a little bit easier.
Reminder
There will be no school on Thursday, November 27th & Friday, November 28th. Happy Thanksgiving!!

Chip Shoppe Pick-Up
Just a reminder to stop in and pick up your orders if you have not yet done so. Thank you.
Greetings, Falcon Families!
We have an unexpected cold snap coming, which has caught many of us off-guard! Please be sure to dig out those winter coats, mittens, and hats for tomorrow's weather. When the temperature is above zero, we plan to play outdoors and we want everyone to be comfortable during our learning breaks. Thank You, Mrs. Bub – SFES Principal
REMINDERS – STUDENT DROP OFF AND PICK UP
Unless a parent or guardian needs to come into the building to meet with a staff member, they should not bring their children into the building. To help students learn independence, they need to line up and enter with the other students.
Students who are being picked up after school are dismissed at the northeast atrium Door #1. This is the pick-up/drop off circle.
Remember that if you are going to get out of your car to pick up your child, you cannot park in the drop off circle. At no time will students be allowed to cross a street or walk through a parking lot without an adult. When students are dropped off in the morning, they are expected to walk to the playground on the outside sidewalks. They should not go through the building to get to the playground.
Please do not park on either side of the road directly in front of school. The front parking lot on the west side of the building, near the pick-up lane, should be used for parents picking up their children. At no time should children be left unattended in the parking lot or to cross the street.
Thank you for your cooperation in working with us to keep your children safe at all times.
