School District of Sheboygan Falls are teaming up to address student mental
health needs. Join the community discussion with Christie Gause-Bemis,
education consultant for the Department of Public Instruction. Gause-Bemis has worked
across the systems in mental health for the duration of her career as a county
social-worker, a school social worker, a treatment foster care social worker
and a psychotherapist in private practice.

Rec League Baseball/Softball
– 4K-8th Grade
The Sheboygan
Falls Rec Department is accepting registrations for
summer Rec League baseball, softball, and tee ball
until Friday, April 7th. Recreation leagues are available for
boys and girls from 4K-8th grade (current year's grade).
Baseball Fundamentals Camp –
2nd-8th Grade
The Rec Department is
partnering with the SFHS baseball team to offer a baseball
fundamentals camp for 2nd through 8th grade players. Players will learn
from the Sheboygan Falls High School coaches and develop the
fundamentals—throwing, pitching, fielding and hitting. Players will partake in
some of the same instructional, competitive, and fun drills as the high school
programs does and will have a chance to win some prizes! The camp will be
held on consecutive Saturdays (April 22nd & April 29th) with a cost of $25.

Attention Families: The Sheboygan County Health & Human
Services Department is hosting a free Trauma-Informed Parenting
Workshop this spring. The workshop
provides participants the knowledge and skills needed to effectively care for
and support children who have experienced trauma. Please contact Katy

Public School Open Enrollment
The inter-district public school open enrollment program allows
parents to apply for their children to attend public school in a school
district other than the one in which they reside or if you are anticipating a
move out of the School District of Sheboygan Falls before the start of the
2017-2018 school year and would like your student(s) to continue attending
school in Sheboygan Falls, please call the District Office at 467-7893 for
information or check the Department of Public Instruction Website at: http://dpi.wi.gov/open-enrollment and
check the Open Enrollment Brochure for the 2017-2018 School Year.
There is NO TUITION COST to parents for participation in open
enrollment but parents are responsible for transporting their student (s) to
and from school.
The
open enrollment period for the 2017-2018 school year is from February 6, 2017
to April 28, 2017. The Department of Public Instruction
is encouraging all parents to complete Open Enrollment applications on-line.
Applications will be located on the DPI website at
http://dpi.wi.gov/open-enrollment.
A link to this site will also be made available on the school web
site at: www.sheboyganfalls.k12.wi.us.
The DPI website will be active from February 6, 2017 until 4:00
p.m. on April 28, 2017. A computer will be available in the Sheboygan
Falls District Office at 220 Amherst Avenue between the hours of 7:30 AM and
3:30 PM for parents who do not have access to the internet but who wish to
apply on-line. Help will be available for completion of the
application.
IF YOU ANTICIPATE A POSSIBLE MOVE OUT OF SHEBOYGAN FALLS, PLEASE
COMPLETE THE OPEN ENROLLMENT APPLICATION. You can decide not to participate in
open enrollment at any time and cancel your application, but if you do not
apply during the open enrollment application period, your student cannot
participate in open enrollment for the upcoming year.

CLOSING OF
SCHOOLS DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER
As
winter approaches, it is again time to make plans for possible school closings
due to inclement weather. The procedures
that have been followed by the School District of Sheboygan Falls over the past
several years will be followed again this year.
This
means that any decision to close schools for all or any portion of a school day
will be made as early as possible in order to afford parents the opportunity to
make alternate child care or transportation plans. All closing announcements or early dismissals
will be made on the school web page: www.sheboyganfalls.k12.wi.us, an
automated school message, and on the
