Child Development Day<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The School District of Sheboygan Falls along
\nwith United Way of Sheboygan County invites you and your child to participate
\nin Child Development Day on Wednesday, October 24th <\/sup>between the
\nhours of 8:00 AM \u2013 11:30 AM and 2:30 PM \u2013 6:00 PM. This is an opportunity for
\nyou to get a sense of how your child is developing, get information on general
\nchild development, and get to know your community educators. <\/span><\/p>\n

We encourage the participation of parents with
\nchildren between the ages of 6 months old and 5 years of age. Children
\ncurrently attending a 4K or 5K program do not need to attend. Please schedule
\nan appointment for this screening by calling the Student Services office at
\n920-467-7894. <\/span><\/p>\n

Hansen Fundraiser<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Pickup is Monday, November 5th<\/sup> from
\n4-6 p.m. in the Elementary cafeteria. <\/span><\/p>\n

Reminder: When writing out food payments please

From the Nurses:<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Wisconsin requires that all students K-12 must present
\nwritten evidence of being in compliance with the state immunization law by
\nhaving either received the required number of vaccinations, or by having a
\nsigned waiver. If you have any questions on your students vaccination
\ncompliance please check with your primary doctor or check with you school nurse.\u00a0Generally
\nstudents entering 5k, and 6th grade are in need of Vaccinations.<\/u><\/i><\/b>\u00a0Your
\nnurses will be sending out letters very soon!<\/span><\/p>\n

Box Tops <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Our first collection of box tops is in progress. Please send
\nin any\/all of your box tops before November 1st<\/sup>. Extra box top

Youth\u00a0Wrestling\u00a0Camp
\n– K-4th Grade<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

The K-4th
\ngrade\u00a0wrestling\u00a0program will run\u00a0on
\nTuesday\u00a0and\u00a0Thursday\u00a0evenings (5:45-7:00pm) from\u00a0October
\n23rd-November 8th.\u00a0 There will also be a free in-house tournament
\non\u00a0Saturday, November 10th. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In an effort to balance our academic routines
\nwith important social and cultural opportunities for our students, we\u2019d like to
\nshare information on our classroom celebrations.\u00a0 We hope this helps your
\nfamily to plan and enjoy some exciting social milestones in your elementary
\nchild\u2019s experience. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Several holiday-centered celebrations have
\ndeveloped into traditions in our building. Students and their families
\nlook forward to these special themes and celebrations, and it may be helpful to
\nknow these traditions as your child progresses through school.\u00a0 Halloween,
\nin particular, is an exciting time.\u00a0 We
\nwish to tie our school celebration to curriculum to use our time wisely, create
\nexcitement surrounding learning pieces (such as reading, Wisconsin history, and
\nscience), and remain sensitive to families\u2019 unique approaches to this
\ntraditional holiday.\u00a0 Our grade levels celebrate at the end of October in
\nthe following themes:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n military member, a sports hero, a family member, a community hero, or a past
\n hero.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We ask that families refrain from dressing their
\nchild with potentially scary accessories such as fake blood, weapons, masks,
\netc.\u00a0 Please also keep in mind that costumes worn for the entire school
\nday still need to allow for daily activities.\u00a0
\nStudents will still need to go to recess, physical education class,
\nperform typical daily tasks, eat lunch, etc.\u00a0 These guidelines help all
\nstudents to enjoy the day.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While our themes are intended to spark
\ncreativity and support learning, we understand that the themes may not coincide
\nwith your family\u2019s chosen costumes for this traditional holiday. \u00a0Please
\ndon\u2019t feel that you need to make an additional purchase to enjoy this school
\ndress-up experience. <\/b>\u00a0Our school mission, vision, and commitments
\nemphasize innovation<\/u><\/b>, so it\u2019s great to see creative use of common
\nclothing or materials to share the excitement of imagination! \u00a0<\/u><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
