\n*Students 9th-11th*: A reminder to hand in your course registration
\nmaterials by Wednesday, February 15. Be sure to get the necessary
\nsignatures.<\/p>\n
*Guest Passes for Snoball Dance are due **today**, 2\/3.*<\/p>\n
*Social isolation* is the feeling of being left out, lonely and treated
\nlike you are invisible. NHS is running a *Start with Hello* poster contest.
\nStudents are asked to illustrate why it\u2019s important to recognize social
\nisolation. Each poster will have the general statement End Social Isolation
\n#StartWithHello. Possible poster ideas: Effects of social isolation, making
\npeople feel welcome in our school, being friendly to those you don\u2019t know,
\njust starting with saying hello. Students who wish to enter the contest are
\nasked to create a drawing on the entry form or digitally. Entry forms can
\nbe found in the office or by going to the link on tabs located on posters
\naround the school and must be submitted by Friday, February 3rd. The
\nwinning posters will be used during *Start with Hello* week from February
\n6th through the 10th.<\/p>\n
*TIME TO BREAK OUT THOSE COIN JARS!* From Jan. 30 to Feb. 10, Key Club is
\nhosting a Coin War to raise money for countries without a clean water
\nsupply. The average American uses 176 gallons of water per day and a drink
\nof fresh, clean water is never more than a few feet out of reach. In
\ncomparison, an average African family uses only 5 gallons of water per day
\nand they must travel for miles every morning to obtain it, and still it
\nisn’t promised that it is safe for them. Over 40 billion work hours are
\nlost each year in Africa to the need to fetch drinking water. There will
\nbe a table set up during lunch with jars in which you can donate your extra
\nchange and vote for two teachers to be soaked with water. Donate $1 and
\nenter a raffle for a chance to soak a teacher.<\/p>\n
Volunteers are needed to help at concession on Saturday, February 11 for
\nWrestling Regionals. There are several shifts available from 8:30 a.m. –
\n2:30 p.m. Please stop in the counseling office to sign up.<\/p>\n
*Attention Workbound Students*: The next meeting is Monday, February 6,
\nat 6:00 or 7:15. First year students, bring resume materials. Second year
\nstudents, remember to dress appropriately as you will be meeting with a
\nprofessional mentor.<\/p>\n
