Families Program for ages 10-14 through UW-Sheboygan and Mental Health
America. The Strengthening Families Program helps develop healthy family
relationships between children (aged 10-14) and their
parents/guardians. The Spring 2016 session will run every *Thursday*
from January
28 to March 10*, 5:30pm to 8:00pm* with dinner provided. The flyer and
registration form are available in the office. Child care for younger kids
will be provided! Follow this link for more information on the program
itself: http://fyi.uwex.edu/strengthening-families/

Starting second semester, Student Council will be having a soda tab drive
to benefit an organization that helps kids with cancer. So, start saving
those soda tabs. When you’re at your relatives over break, be sure to ask
them too!

*The first dance of the year *for all middle school students will be held on
Friday, January 8, from 3:15-5:15. The theme is “Under the Sea,” so you

spinning records for us and there will be pizza, ice cream, candy, and soda
for sale at the event. Students will need a signed permission slip to
attend the dance. Permission slips will be handed out in your Falcon Time
before break. Wristbands to get into the dance will be for sale after
break for $1. Wristbands can be purchased at lunch on Wed., Jan. 6, Thurs.,
Jan. 7, and Friday, Jan. 8. They will also be on sale right before the
dance that Friday afternoon.

Have you weighed your back pack lately? It should be no more than 10% of
your body weight! Heavy back packs can lead to muscle strain and neck,
shoulder, or back pain. To minimize pain and injury you should:

· Carry only what you need

· Purchase book bags with waist belts or even better get one with
wheels

· Always use both straps to more evenly distribute the weight

· Weigh your back pack and figure out the percentage
