*From The Nurse:*
Gear Up to prevent frostbite!
It’s important for students to wear the right gear to avoid injuries and
hypothermia.
Dress in warm layers of wool or synthetic fabric that can be taken off or
put back on as needed. Cotton is not a winter-friendly fabric. It tends to
hold moisture close to the skin.
The body loses heat through the head and neck, so hats and scarves are a
must. Bundle up feet and hands in waterproof layers for the best effect.
For going skiing, snowboarding or playing ice hockey, additional protective
gear is a must. Helmets help prevent brain injuries!
