*From The Nurse:*

Everyone has heard of secondhand smoke but have you heard about third-hand
smoke? It is the residual nicotine and other chemicals left on a variety
of indoor surfaces by tobacco smoke. These toxic substances cling to all
surfaces long after the smoker has stopped smoking. They build up over
time and resist normal cleaning. Infants, children and non-smoking adults
are at risk of tobacco-related problems when they inhale, ingest or touch
surfaces containing third hand smoke. The only way to prevent exposure to
third-hand smoke is to create a smoke-free environment!
