*Student Council Members – *Due to the cancellations last week, we will
have a Student Council meeting tonight from 3:14-4:00.
*Yearbook Staff Meeting, this THURSDAY, 3:15 to 4:15. Please make effort
to attend as we will begin to work on the pages and the Yearbook Company
Rep. will be present to teach to help us out.*
*8th Grade Parents – Please log into the Infinite Campus Parent Portal to
read and sign the MS 1:1 Chromebook Pilot Agreement by February: 3rd.*
*Week of January 23rd…A Falcon Time Switch for Grades 7 and 8 ONLY…* *Due
to the grade 8 TEACHERS day away for tours and workshops on Tuesday, 1/24,
grades 7 and 8 will switch their Falcon Time meeting dates on 1/24 and
1/25, so regular year-round FT groups will meet on T 1/24 and FT
intervention, challenge and enrichment groups will meet on W 1/25. *
Auditions for the musical for the middle school have been moved to Thursday
and Friday after school and the parent meeting to Tuesday night at 5:00 pm.

Spelling Bee for the title of SFMS School Spelling Bee Champion! *

Sophie B, Ava L, Aidan F, Noah W, Dakota A…. *and our winners, Peri S in
first place as our SFMS School Spelling Bee Champion, with Cole M as our
SFMS School Spelling Bee Runner Up. *Peri will advance to the Regional
Spelling Bee, to be held at Acuity during the evening of January 30th,
where she will compete for the opportunity to move on to the Scripps State
Spelling Bee in Madison.

of the recess/lunch period and come to the ACTION Room for some fun!
*National Geographic Bee~ *Classroom rounds will be taking place beginning
this week through Friday, January 27th. *Grade Level Competition in the
ACTION Room will be held on;*

*SFMS School Competition* will take place in the ACTION Room on Friday,
February 3rd at 1:45PM. Students can prepare by visiting the National

Order your SFMS yearbook by Jan. 31st to receive your book for the
promotional savings price of $22.00. The yearbook price will go up to
$27.00 beginning Feb. 1st.

Posters are on display in each grade level hallway for students in each
grade to check and proofread their picture/name for the yearbook. You need
to make sure your picture is on the poster and that your name with the
correct spelling is below your photo. If there is a mistake, contact the
office asap. Corrections are needed by Tuesday, January 31st.

*Tractor Safety Camp*
UW Extension Manitowoc and UW Extension Sheboygan are offering a Tractor
Safety Camp for 2 different weekends. March 10-12 and March 31-April 2, 2017.
If any of the students are interested please have them fill out a brochure

*Wrestling Parent Meeting:* *Friday, January 20th**, at 6:00pm in the high
school cafeteria.*
The first day of practice is scheduled for Monday January 30th. All
paperwork and fees are due by that date. You can get the paperwork needed
off the school website (Middle School–Forms for Families) to get a head
start on those items. Also, if your child needs to have a physical, please
get that scheduled as soon as possible because they won’t be able to
practice until that is completed and other forms are turned in.
Practices at the MS cafeteria are January 30th – February 3rd (practices
are four days – NOT Wednesday)
Practices at the HS wrestling room beginning February 23rd.
*Writers Workshop Competition:* Student interested in winning a certificate
for free martial arts lessons at Park’s Black Belt Academy (2month
lessons/$187 value) Please submit an essay to the MS office by Tuesday,
January 31st. Your essay should say why you think you should win the free
lessons.
Students: as of 2nd semester, the library will no longer supply students
with headphones. If you are in need of headphones, they can be purchased
inexpensively at a dollar store.
Attention Families: The Sheboygan County Health & Human Services Department
is hosting a free Trauma-Informed Parenting Workshop this spring. The
workshop provides participants the knowledge and skills needed to
effectively care for and support children who have experienced trauma.
