*Health Tip*
Empty stomachs, Empty Performance
Between full school days, multiple sports practices and homework, students
live extremely busy lives. Ensure you are balancing hours of activity with
a healthy and nourishing diet and rest.
Students love sports, music, play practice, work- which means lengthy
activities are a regular part of the week. It’s important to refuel to make
up for the calorie loss. Students may need to consume 2,200-4,000 calories
per day. Not meeting these needs could mean a breakdown in muscle mass, an
unhealthy weight, less energy and decreased performance. Make sure your
kids are eating enough healthy choices and drinking plenty of water!
