Sheboygan Falls Middle School students will have the opportunity to
participate in the annual *Student/Staff Talent Fest on Thursday, January
9th, 2020, at 6:30 PM in the middle school commons.* *Additionally, we are
going to have a school performance this year which will start at 1:30 PM
featuring members of the staff as well.* Students interested in
participating in the Talent Fest should begin to think about what type of
performance they wish to display. Students may perform in only one act
(unless it is a larger school organized ensemble), which can be either a
solo or group performance. Types of performances presented in the past
include singing, dancing, musical presentations, short skits, juggling, or
any act that displays a student’s talent. Now is the time to determine if
you wish to participate, in what way, and with whom. Performances will be
limited to 2 minutes. Students who elect to sing must be prepared to do so
without singing over the voice on You tube. Singers should include the
name of the song they will perform on the permission slip and Mrs.
Charbonneau will provide music for you to practice with. Parents, please
assist your child in assuring that the performance, music and lyrics, and
costumes are appropriate for our middle school audience.
Students wishing to participate must be willing to thoroughly prepare and
practice at home. Participants *must attend either* of the scheduled
rehearsal dates, as indicated below. Acts must be well prepared, polished,
and ready to perform at the two rehearsals. The rehearsal dates are;
• *Thursday, January 2th from 3:05 – 4:00 PM *
*• Tuesday, January 7th from 3:05 – 4:00 PM*
The program begins at 6:30 PM/1:30 PM in the commons and will end at
approximately 8:00 PM/3:05 PM. Students should arrive at the commons at
least 20 minutes prior to show time. The students must bring/wear their
costumes and any props needed unless they have elected to leave these items
with the director after their final rehearsal date. Students must be
seated in the designated performer seats, in show order, as predetermined
by the director.
*Students wishing to participate must complete the attached permission slip
and performance sign-up sheet and return it to Mrs. Charbonneau by
Thursday, January 2nd, 2020. Should you require further information
regarding the Talent Fest, please do not hesitate to contact us.*
The Fishing Club will be having its first meeting of the year Monday,
December 2nd, at 6:30p.m in the high school cafeteria. There’s a number of
items we will be covering, such as ordering our blanks to build your own
fishing rod, ice fishing trip or trips, spring steel head fishing, summer
fishing trip to
Canada, and much more. Students please pass the word to other, as I would
like to have a big turnout for our meeting. Parents are always welcomed
and encouraged to attend all the fishing club meeting and events.

From your school nurse:
We know that illness can strike any of us at any time.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services recommends that everyone age 6
months old and older get vaccinated against the flu. The vaccine is safe
and effective and can prevent long absences from school and work.
In addition, there are steps the whole family can take to prevent and stop
the spread of illness. These include:
· Wash your hands often with soap and water, or use an
alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
· Cover your cough or sneeze with your upper sleeve, and try
to avoid touching your face with your hand.
· If you use a tissue, throw it away after one use.
· Never share drinking cups, straws, and utensils.
· When possible, avoid being exposed to people who are sick
with flu-like symptoms.
· Eat nutritious meals, get plenty of rest, and do not smoke.
· Frequently clean commonly touched surfaces, like doorknobs,
the refrigerator handles, your phone, and faucets.
If your child shows signs of illness, such as a high fever, cough,
sneezing, or runny nose, please keep them home until 24 hours after the
symptoms pass to prevent them from spreading illness to classmates and
staff. You can find our policy on absences in the district handbook.
Working together, we can make this a healthy school year for everyone.
