for 75 cents*

Great News! We have found an advisor to run Lego League this Fall.
Interested students should stop by the office to sign up and watch the
announcements for further details next week. ~Ms. Markofski

Homecoming Trinkets will be for sale during student lunches on Thursday,
September 29th & Friday, September 30th. Please see the attachment with
items and prices. Homecoming game is Friday, September 30th @ 7pm. You can
join SF community for a tailgate party before the game in the HS gym lobby
starting at 4pm. Brats and Burgers along with sides will be for sale. There
is also a torte sale in the gym lobby sponsored by the HS music dept. Hope
you can join us!

*Spirit Week is coming!! *High School homecoming is next week Friday,
Sept. 30. We will be celebrating the event the same as they are doing at
the High School. The theme for homecoming this year is “Dr. Seuss.” So
here’s the dress-up days:

Monday – Cat in the Hat/Fox in Sox Day – wear crazy socks or hats

Tuesday – Thing 1/Thing 2 Day (Dynamic Duo Day) – dress like a twin with a
friend

Wednesday – Grinch – wear a Christmas outfit

Thursday – One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish – 5th graders wear
white; 6th graders wear green; 7th graders wear red; 8th graders wear blue

Friday – Falcon Day – wear Falcon attire or purple and gold

*Art Enrichment Opportunity:* Any interested 7th or 8th grader may sign up
to visit the *John Michael Kohler Arts Center* on *Wednesday, October 12*,
from 10-12. We will take a docent-led tour and then participate in a
workshop with artist-in-residence, Cole Caswell, a Maine-based
photographer. This trip is open to the first 40 students who bring back
their permission slip and $6 fee. See Mrs. Fischer in the art room for
details and a slip.

Interested in acting or giving speeches? Forensics may be for you. Pick up
a sign up sheet outside Rm 219 (Mr. Shircel’s room) and return it by Monday,
September 26th. There will be an informational meeting after school Monday
the 26th in Rm 219 from3:15-3:45.

Mrs. Charbonneau will be starting clubs this week during recess. Students
will need to get a pass and then they can come and participate in the
clubs. They are:

It’s time for our first ‘Lunch & Crunch’…Developing Good Study Habits!
During this L&C, students will watch a video that highlights several study
skills. The video begins by explaining several critical in-class skills and
then moves on to discuss successful techniques for studying at home.
Students will receive a few handouts detailing the study habits they
learned from the video. If you are interested in participating in this L&C,
please let Mr. Uselding know by the end of the day on Friday, September 16.
The Developing Good Study Skills L&C will be held during your lunch and
recess period on Thursday, September 22, in Room 121. Quickly get your
lunch (whether you eat first or second) and come right to Room 121 since we
only have 30 minutes. Thank you!

Applications for joining the yearbook staff are now available!
Applications are located in the MS office. Return the completed application
(parent signature is required) to the box to the right behind the chairs
when you walk in the office no later than Friday, Sept. 30.

Meetings will be the second and fourth Monday after school each month.
