October 17th Announcements

*Sheboygan Falls Middle School*

*Student Announcements*

*10/17/2016*

*“B” Day*

Students and Staff – Please know that the “water bottle flipping” that
began as a fun thing to do has grown legs and is out of control! Students
are now flipping everything they can find which has caused a few safety
concerns and an overall distraction. Therefore, the concept of “flipping”
anything is now considered an “unexpected” behavior.

*CHESS & SCRABBLE CLUB- *Open to new and experienced players! Pick up your
lunch and come to the ACTION Room during the entire lunch/recess
period on Tuesday,
October 18th!

There was a phone found after the 7th Grade fieldtrip on Tuesday. Please
come to the office to claim.

“Forensics students, please stop by Mr. Shircel’s room (219) to sign up to
practice for the competitions. Practices are before school during lunch and
after school.”

Don’t forget to wear black this Wednesday to support being a Bully Free
School!

Sheboygan Falls Middle School will again be participating in *Operation
Gratitude’s Candy Give Back Program.* We’re not kidding! *WE WANT YOUR
CANDY!* Candy will be *shipped overseas to our courageous troops *(who
could sure use a treat or two!) serving our country in the Middle East. In
return, you will be doing good things for others! It’s all about MAKING A
DIFFERENCE!

*Candy can be dropped off November 1st-4th in-front of the main office!
Thank you for your donation!*

Anti-Bully Slogans for October

Good people bring out the good in people.

* Attention Grade 7 & 8 Boys Basketball Players: * The beginning of your
season is rapidly approaching. Before the first day of practice on October
24 after school in MS gym 3:30-5, you need to have all of your paperwork
completed and turned in to the office. Don’t leave it for the last minute
because you may need a physical exam, which involves a visit to a doctor.
The necessary forms are on the middle school web site or in the office.
Please also sign-up in the office if you plan on playing. Thanks, Coaches
Pfister, Bohman, and Schuren

* Attention Grade 7 & 8 Boys Basketball Parents:* There will be an optional
parent meeting held on October 19th at 4:00pm held in the gym. If you are
able to make it, we will be discussing the expectations for the season
along with the schedule. If you are unable to make it, please let us know
if you have questions. Thanks, Coaches Pfister, Bohman, and Schuren

Calling all artists! To promote “Waste-Free Lunch” coming up soon in our
district, we are looking for students to design a poster promoting reducing
waste and trash at lunch. If you want to participate and want to try
winning some prizes, please see Mrs. Fischer in the art room for the paper
and for some guidelines. Thank you!

Mrs. Charbonneau’s Clubs will continue for 5/6 grades

*It’s time to sign up for MS conferences:* Tuesday, October 18th 4-7pm.
Here are the steps when signing up for conferences go to the district
website and click on Family on top, then to the right go to Family
Resources. Half way down on the page you will see an icon that says Parent
Teacher Conference Registration. Click on the school on the right hand
side. If you need assistance call the MS at 467-7880. Please limit your
child to 2 teachers, this will help allow room for everyone to get a time
slot. If you feel the need to meet with more than 2 teachers for each
child, please e-mail those teachers to schedule at another time. Fifth
grade parents will be getting a note in their child’s folder letting them
know which teacher to schedule conferences with. It will be with just their
homeroom teacher. That teacher will have all your child’s information to
share with you from the other teachers that your child has. Thank you for
all your cooperation with scheduling conferences.

The eighth grade class will be participating in a Coastal Restoration
Stewardship Day on October 25, 2016. This citizen science program connects
to environmental concepts covered in science class and our Make a
Difference Week focus of Attitude of Gratitude. On October 25th we will
be leaving school at 9:00 to go to King Park to plant native Dune Plants.
Upon our return to school, about 1:00, we will be eating lunch where
students will have the option of eating hot lunch.
Please contact Ms. Huenink with questions
