*This year’s track participations numbers for 7th & 8th grade are full;
therefore, we will not be opening it up to 6th grade participation. *
*5th and 6th Graders: *You will have the opportunity to purchase
tickets on Thursday
April 12th during your 1/2 block class for the 7th Grade Business Expo
which will take place on April 13th. Tickets will cost .25 each. Prices
for items, food, will range in price.

Expected Behavior on The Tire Swing – Hello students, we were noticing some
unexpected behaviors on the tire swing.
Here are a few quick reminders:
1. Always take turns and be respectful of others.
2. Always stop when others ask you to stop.
3. Please remember to be safe when you are pushing. It would be
unexpected if someone hit their head on the bars from being pushed.
The Lakeshore Youth Chorale is holding auditions Tuesday, April 10th from
6:00-8:00 and Saturday, April 14th from 9:00 to 11:00. Please contact

Mrs. Charbonneau has 20 spots open for the RCS Annie field trip. Please
see her for a slip. This field trip is April 16th and is open to drama
students that have good academic standing and no behavior referrals.

*ARTS ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITY! *Join Mrs. Fiorini and Mrs. Charbonneau as we
travel to see Milwaukee Ballet perform *Beauty and the Beast!* The
trip is *next
Wednesday, April 11th, so sign up ASAP! *Interested students should pick up
a permission slip from Mrs. Fiorini or Mrs. Charbonneau, then return it
with $12 to cover the cost of your ticket. We have a LIMITED number of
tickets, so this is a “first come, first served” opportunity.
*ROCKETS FOR SCHOOLS EVENT!*
Fifth grade students who interested in participating in this year’s rocket
launch, sponsored by Spaceport Sheboygan, can pick up an info package and
permission slip from the MS office. Registration deadline is Weds. April

*St. Jude MATH-A-THON!* It’s almost time to turn in your pledge sheets and
funds raised to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital!! Friday,
April 6th is the date! Participants have the opportunity to earn
prizes…but most importantly, to help the children and families at St.
Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The math class with the highest number
of *contributing *participants will earn a class popcorn party!!! Together
we can make a difference!!! Questions??? Contact Mrs. Fiorini
*MATH-A-THON TIMELINE!*
*Friday, April 6th**! *Students return their pledge donations in an
envelope to Mrs. Fiorini. Please include student’s full name and grade
level on the envelope. Funbooks can be kept by the student and students can
continue to work on these if not yet complete.
*By Friday, April 20th,* the winner of the POPCORN party will be announced.
The math class with the most contributing (meaning submitting some
donation, whether $1.00 or $100.00) students will be selected the winner!
*Students who have earned additional prizes from St Jude’s will receive
those prizes sometime in May. Please watch the student announcements for
when and where students can pick these up. *
*Health Tip:*
Stress impacts everyone at some point in their life. Stress can have
negative effects on your health over time. Some examples of identifying
stress are listed below:
· Irritability and moodiness
· Withdrawing from or refusing to participate in activities they
previously enjoyed
· Expressing worry
· Complaining
· Crying
· Being fearful
· Clinging to a parent or teacher
· Changes in sleep patterns: sleeping too much or too little
· Changes in eating: eating too much or not enough
· Teens may be better able to explain what they are feeling but
may withdraw from family, choosing instead to open up to friends. While
this is a normal part of growing up, you also need to be aware if your teen
withdraws too much, avoiding interaction with parents.
Both young children and teens may have physical signs of stress including
headaches and stomachaches. They may also use different words, such as
“worried,” “confused,” “annoyed” or “angry” or put themselves down, such as
“I am stupid.” or “No one likes me.”
There are ways to help yourself and students manage stress. Some examples
include: talking with someone, acknowledging that everyone experiences
stress at some point in their life, plan fun activities, get outside and
exercise, and look for or help your child find solutions vs. blaming
others.
Your nurses want you to eat right, get appropriate amounts of sleep, and
get out an exercise for at least 20 min a day, and push that stress away!
