*Health Tip:*

Recent Research shows that almost 1 in 3 kids and teens are dealing with a
concussion and still have symptoms a month later. Studies also show that
repeated head injuries can lead to serious long term consequences.
Immediate symptoms include headache, fatigue, dizziness, and slower
thinking. Most of these symptoms resolve in 2 weeks. However, keep watch
for new difficulties in the days to weeks after the injury including:
trouble sleeping, forgetfulness, frustration, and fatigue.

You *can have* a concussion without losing consciousness. Please make sure
your child’s teacher, school nurse, and coaches know if your child suffered
a recent concussion. Your child shouldn’t return to play until he or she
has been cleared by and medical professional.

If you have further questions or concerns please ask your school nurse!
