Update from the National Guard:

Sheboygan County National Guard COVID-19 Testing site

Only open Wednesday with New hours

The WI National Guard testing site at the Aging and Disability Resource
Center in Sheboygan Falls will no longer be open on Fridays. The site will
remain open on every Wednesday during the newly revised hours of 9am-5pm,
until March 10th. To see all the testing options in Sheboygan County, in
addition to the WI NationalGuard site, please visit our website’s testing
subpage at www.sheboygancounty.com/

A Note From Our Nurses:

We are asking that if you have anyone in your household being tested for
COVID to please also stay home until results are in. If you are not sure if
your household member needs a COVID test, please email Nurse Lisa or Nurse
Amber and we can help figure out the next steps.

I understand that this is something that has been dynamic throughout this
school year, and we are sorry for any confusion that has caused. We have
been trying to follow our county’s guidance, disease burden, and what other
area schools are doing. This is no small task!

With cough and cold season upon us, we’d like to review what are considered
COVID symptoms and therefore requires your child to stay home:

ONE of the following: cough, trouble breathing, or loss of taste/smell

OR

TWO of the following: congestion, sore throat, fever, headache, body aches,
vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, fatigue

We are asking that siblings and children of adults being tested for COVID
please stay home, even if they are not showing symptoms.

This is due to the spread in the schools linked to household contacts.

If you are unsure if you or your child needs to be tested, PLEASE keep all
household members home until you speak with a school nurse or your family
physician.

Help us stay open by keeping your sick kids home.

Depending on their symptoms, you will hear from a School Nurse who will
help determine what day your children may safely return to school.

*TWO* of the following*:* congestion, sore throat, fever, headache, body
aches, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, fatigue

*We are asking that siblings and children of adults being tested for COVID
please stay home, even if they are not showing symptoms.*

This is due to the spread in the schools linked to household contacts.

If you are unsure if you or your child needs to be tested, PLEASE keep all
household members home until you speak with a school nurse or your family
physician.

*Help us stay open by keeping your sick kids home. *

Depending on their symptoms, you will hear from a School Nurse who will
help determine what day your children may safely return to school.

*Spelling Bee: *Can you spell words like: pearlescent, parachuted, and
palindrome? Well some of our students can!

*Congratulations* to our 2020-2021 All-School Spelling Bee winner – 7th
grader Mia Winter and our runner-up 8th grader Elena Rosalez.

who participated, and to our grade level finalists. From 5th grade the

*Middle School Musical 2021*

Yes, the show will go on! We are excited to announce that we will still be
performing a musical this year but in a new, safe way. *The musical will be
professionally recorded at school and released as an online production. *The
storyline features creative students who write whimsical, imaginative poems
but one student is too nervous to create and share his poem. After
seemingly giving up all hope, the other students help him shed self-doubt
and encourage him to be brave and share his talents. Think of the great
things that can happen when we encourage each other!

The musical is *Could You Hug a Cactus?* Listen and check it out here
<www.bbbpress.com/musicals/could-you-hug-a-cactus/>.

Students have the opportunity to audition for a solo role (singing and
speaking parts) or be a part of the ensemble (large group singing only). To
ensure safety, solo roles will be video and audio recorded individually at
school with assistance. Virtual students have the option of auditioning for
a solo role and recording themselves at home or coming to school to record
individually after school hours. The ensemble will be video and audio
recorded together socially distanced. The recordings will then be edited
together to create the entire production. If there are enough students
interested, there is the potential for a double cast.

*Who needs to Quarantine? *

People who have been in *close contact* with someone who has COVID-19. This
excludes people who have had COVID-19 within the past 3 months.

People who have tested positive for COVID-19 do not need to quarantine or
get tested again for up to 3 months as long as they do not develop
symptoms. If they develop symptoms of COVID-19 they should isolate until
they are well for at least 24 hours, or if an alternative diagnosis is
made, until they can return to school according to that diagnosis.
Encourage the individual to be evaluated by their healthcare provider for
an alternative diagnosis other than COVID-19.

What does it mean to be a *”**close contact**”*?

You are a close contact if any of the following situations happened while
you spent time with a person with COVID-19 (even if they didn’t have
symptoms and were wearing a mask):

You were within 6 feet of the person for a total of 15 minutes or more over
the course of a day. You provided care at home to the person.

You had direct physical contact with the person (hugged or kissed them).

You shared eating or drinking utensils with the person.

You had a sleepover with the person.
They sneezed, coughed, or somehow got respiratory droplets on you.
