CLOSING OF SCHOOLS DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER

As winter approaches, it is again time to make plans for possible school
closings due to inclement weather. The procedures that have been followed
by the School District of Sheboygan Falls over the past several years will
be followed again this year.

This means that any decision to close schools for all or any portion of a
school day will be made as early as possible in order to afford parents the
opportunity to make alternate child care or transportation plans. All
closing announcements or early dismissals will be made on the school web
page: www.sheboyganfalls.k12.wi.us, an automated school message, and on
the following area radio stations:

WXER 104.5/96.1 FM WHBZ 106.5 FM WHBL 1330 AM/101.5 FM
WBFM 93.7 FM

We are also announcing school closings on the following television stations:

TODAY’S TMJ4 WFRV Local 5 News WISN (Weather Watch
12) WITI (FOX 6)

The school district, radio stations and television stations ask that NO
individual phone calls for information be made. With the cooperation of
everyone, the information can be relayed via the above sources, allowing
everyone to be informed as quickly as possible.

NOTICE TO PARENTS WHO ARE MOVING OUT OF THE DISTRICT

If you are anticipating a move or moving out of the Sheboygan Falls
District during the current school year, your student can continue
attending school in the Sheboygan Falls School District. Please contact
your building office, or the district office, to receive DPI Form PI-9419-B
– Request for Tuition Waiver Due to Move, for the remainder of the
2023-2024 school year. Completion of this form will enable your child to
continue attending school in the Sheboygan Falls School District, even
though you no longer live within the District boundaries for the remainder
of the school year. An Open Enrollment Application will then need to be
completed between February 5, 2024, and April 30, 2024, for the 2024-2025
school year. Please call (920) 467-7893 if you have any questions
regarding Tuition Waivers or Open Enrollment.

8th Grade Band & Choir: We are so excited about our upcoming opportunity to
participate in the 2023 Beyond The Notes Music Festival scheduled for Thursday,
May 25, 2023 at the Kalahari Resort and Convention Center in Wisconsin
Dells. Our students will have the opportunity to listen to and perform for

skills, and spend time in either the Water Park or Adventure Park.

Diversity Club -We will be Celebrating Asian Pacific Heritage Month and
Mental Health Awareness Month throughout May! Diversity Club will be
learning about different Asian cultures and spreading awareness on mental
health issues concerning middle schoolers.

Asian Pacific Heritage Fact:The month of May was chosen to commemorate the
immigration of the first Japanese to the United States on May 7, 1843, and
to mark the anniversary of the completion of the transcontinental railroad
on May 10, 1869. The majority of the workers who laid the tracks were
Chinese immigrants.

Mental Health Awareness: In 2021, more than 4 in 10 (42%) students felt
persistently sad or hopeless and nearly one-third (29%) experienced poor
mental health. These feelings were found to be more common among LGBQ+
students, female students, and students across racial and ethnic groups. (
