This is a daily drawing challenge in the<br \/>\nmonth of October.  Each day there is a word that is given, and you may only<br \/>\nuse INK (pen, marker, fine point Sharpies, etc.) to illustrate your<br \/>\ninterpretation of that word.  Search #Inktober on social media for<br \/>\nexamples!!   Interested?  See Mrs. Fischer for a sheet.  If you<br \/>\nparticipate, show all 31 drawings to Mrs. Fischer after Halloween for a<br \/>\nsmall prize!<\/p>\n<p>**7th graders, there are Inktober prompts on your neighborhood bulletin<br \/>\nboard.<\/p>\n<p>If you signed up for Dance Team, our first practice is Monday, October 21<br \/>\nright after school until 4:15.  Meet in Mrs. Cotter&#8217;s room (247) at the end<br \/>\nof the day in your workout clothes.  Be sure to have all of your forms in<br \/>\nand fees paid before this day!  Our parent meeting will be Thursday,<br \/>\nOctober 17 at 4:15 and should only take 15-20 minutes. This will be held in<br \/>\nMS Commons.<\/p>\n<p>*Week of October **7th*<\/p>\n<p>Today is the first Week of Bullying Prevention Awareness Month. We are<br \/>\njoining schools all across the country in raising awareness for the fight<br \/>\nagainst bullying.  Our theme this week is &#8220;Falls is a Safe Place to be<br \/>\nYourself&#8221;. This theme was chosen to emphasize the importance of celebrating<br \/>\nour diversity and to remind each of us how important it is to accept one<br \/>\nanother and to treat each other with respect.  Thank you to everybody who<br \/>\ndoesn\u2019t judge one another based on our looks. Together, we can continue to<br \/>\nkeep our school safe and welcoming for all! We invite everyone to wear<br \/>\nblack every Wednesday during October to represent us taking a stand against<br \/>\nbullying!  Have a great week!<\/p>\n<p>7th Grade Boys Basketball<\/p>\n<p>Sign up in the office<\/p>\n<p>1st practice is October 28th with parent meeting following practice<\/p>\n<p>Practices will be in the ES gym 3:30-5, M,T,TH,F (No Wednesdays)<\/p>\n<p>*8th Grade Boys Basketball Players:*  If you are planning on playing<br \/>\nbasketball this year, you can sign up outside of room 133 in the Commons.<br \/>\nYou need to have all of your paperwork for the office (physical exam,<br \/>\nconcussion form, parent permission, and athletic fees) taken care of by Oct<br \/>\n28, the first day of practice.  The optional parent meeting will also be<br \/>\nOct 28 at 5:00 in the MS Commons.<\/p>\n<p>Our school will be hosting author Jacqueline West on Friday, October 11 at<br \/>\n1:30-2:15.  This program is in conjunction with the Sheboygan Children&#8217;s<br \/>\nBook Festival that is taking place at Mead Library, the John Michael Kohler<br \/>\nArts Center, and Bookworm Gardens October 11 &#8211; 13.  The program will be for<br \/>\nour 5th and 6th graders.<\/p>\n<p>Jacqueline West has written many books for middle grade readers.  Some of<br \/>\nher books include:  *Last Things*, *The Book of Elsewhere,* *The Collectors*,<br \/>\nand *Digging Up Danger*.<\/p>\n<p>The program will take place on the social stairs.<\/p>\n<p>*3rd-8th Grade Boys and Girls Rec Department Basketball*<\/p>\n<p>Mandatory Signup Day on Sunday, September 29th from 2-3pm in the SFHS Gym.<br \/>\nPractices begin on October 27th.
