Dates for conferences are Tuesday October 29th<br \/>\n4pm-7pm. If you need help signing up please call the MS office with a<br \/>\nteacher\u2019s name and time you would like. Go to the school website, up on top<br \/>\nright click on Families, then scroll down and click on the parent\/teacher<br \/>\nicon.<\/p>\n<p>Our Falcon Leaders Value this month is courage. Courage is being brave<br \/>\nenough to do what you should do, even when you are afraid. One type of<br \/>\ncourage is physical. This type of courage can be witnessed by those who<br \/>\nconquer their fears by zip lining or skydiving. This is a daily drawing challenge in the<br \/>\nmonth of October.  Each day there is a word that is given, and you may only<br \/>\nuse INK (pen, marker, fine point Sharpies, etc.) to illustrate your<br \/>\ninterpretation of that word.  Search #Inktober on social media for<br \/>\nexamples!!   Interested?  See Mrs. Fischer for a sheet.  If you<br \/>\nparticipate, show all 31 drawings to Mrs. Fischer after Halloween for a<br \/>\nsmall prize!<\/p>\n<p>**7th graders, there are Inktober prompts on your neighborhood bulletin<br \/>\nboard.<\/p>\n<p>*Week of October 21st*<\/p>\n<p>Today is our 4th week of Bully Prevention Awareness Month.  Our theme this<br \/>\nweek is \u201cAt Falls, Everyone Matters\u201d. The theme was chosen to emphasize how<br \/>\nimportant each and every one of us is here at Falls, in our community and<br \/>\nin the world.  Life can be tough sometimes. We should be able to count on<br \/>\nour friends and our peers to support us and to be there for us. Thank you<br \/>\nto everybody that treats one another with respect and kindness that we all<br \/>\ndeserve.   Together, we can continue to keep our school safe and welcoming<br \/>\nfor all! Don\u2019t forget to wear black on Wednesday to take a stand against<br \/>\nbullying! Have a great week!<\/p>\n<p>7th Grade Boys Basketball<\/p>\n<p>Sign up in the office<\/p>\n<p>1st practice is October 28th with parent meeting following practice<\/p>\n<p>Practices will be in the ES gym 3:30-5, M,T,TH,F (No Wednesdays)<\/p>\n<p>*8th Grade Boys Basketball Players:*  If you are planning on playing<br \/>\nbasketball this year, you can sign up outside of room 133 in the Commons.<br \/>\nYou need to have all of your paperwork for the office (physical exam,<br \/>\nconcussion form, parent permission, and athletic fees) taken care of by Oct<br \/>\n28, the first day of practice. The vaccine is safe<br \/>\nand effective and can prevent long absences from school and work.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, there are steps the whole family can take to prevent and stop<br \/>\nthe spread of illness. These include:<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7         Wash your hands often with soap and water, or use an<br \/>\nalcohol-based hand sanitizer.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7         Cover your cough or sneeze with your upper sleeve, and try to<br \/>\navoid touching your face with your hand.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7         If you use a tissue, throw it away after one use.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7         Never share drinking cups, straws, and utensils.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7         When possible, avoid being exposed to people who are sick with<br \/>\nflu-like symptoms.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7         Eat nutritious meals, get plenty of rest, and do not smoke.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7         Frequently clean commonly touched surfaces, like doorknobs, the<br \/>\nrefrigerator handles, your phone, and faucets.<\/p>\n<p>If your child shows signs of illness, such as a high fever, cough,<br \/>\nsneezing, or runny nose, please keep them home until 24 hours after the<br \/>\nsymptoms pass to prevent them from spreading illness to classmates and<br \/>\nstaff.
