There will be an opportunity for Sheboygan Falls Middle School students to
\ngive back to our community by making blankets to honor Carter, Ben and
\nNatalie\u2019s memory. The blankets made, will be donated and given to children
\nwho are at Children\u2019s Hospital and family members staying at the Ronald
\nMcDonald House. To be involved, Mrs. Woodworth and Mrs. Miles will open up
\nthe FCE Room two days a week until the first week in December. At that
\ntime, we will collect the blankets and deliver them.<\/p>\n
Directions for making the blanket:<\/p>\n
You (or your group of students) will be individually responsible for the
\npurchase of the fleece material needed to make the blankets. The blankets
\nare seamless (without sewing) as you will be cutting and tying the ends of
\nthe blanket. The material should be the size of a twin size blanket, so
\npurchase 2 pieces that are 40×80. One piece can be solid, the other print
\nof your choice. In addition, we are asking that you bring your own
\nscissors.<\/p>\n
We will have a space for you to store your materials in the FCE Room. We
\nwill be starting November 7 and plan to have November 14, 18, 20, 26 for
\nthe morning workdays in the FCE Room. If you have any other questions,
\nplease refer them to Mrs. Woodworth or Mrs. Miles.<\/p>\n
Attention all middle school students. The Student Support Team is hosting
\nour 7th Annual Family Movie Night, Friday, November 22nd from 3:30-5:00.
\nThe featured movie is The Lion King. This month The Falcon Leaders are
\nfocusing on Honor as a value of importance in our school community. Come
\nlearn more about honor and how Simba honors his father\u2019s legacy. Simba has
\na long journey ahead, but in the end learns that he must do what is right
\nand do what is best for his kingdom.<\/p>\n
Snacks will be sold for a small fee by the student council. The movie will
\nbe shown in the middle school commons area. There is NO fee to attend. You
\nwill need a permission slip to participate. Permission slips can be found
\nin your neighborhood or in the office. Please turn in permission slips to
\nyour Focus teacher or in the office no later than the day of the movie.<\/p>\n
The movie will be given away to one lucky student at the end of the night.
\nAll you need to do to participate is turn in your permission slip and show
\nup for Family Movie Night! Your family members are also invited to attend
\nwith you (this includes moms, dads, siblings, grandparents, etc\u2026.). Hope
\nto see you all there!<\/p>\n

\ncompassionate and respectful we are here at our school. This fact is true
\nnot only this month, but throughout the year. We encourage you to keep up

We know that illness can strike any of us at any time.<\/p>\n
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services recommends that everyone age 6
\nmonths old and older get vaccinated against the flu. The vaccine is safe
\nand effective and can prevent long absences from school and work.<\/p>\n
In addition, there are steps the whole family can take to prevent and stop
\nthe spread of illness. These include:<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Wash your hands often with soap and water, or use an
\nalcohol-based hand sanitizer.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Cover your cough or sneeze with your upper sleeve, and try to
\navoid touching your face with your hand.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 If you use a tissue, throw it away after one use.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Never share drinking cups, straws, and utensils.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 When possible, avoid being exposed to people who are sick with
\nflu-like symptoms.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Eat nutritious meals, get plenty of rest, and do not smoke.<\/p>\n
\u00b7 Frequently clean commonly touched surfaces, like doorknobs, the
\nrefrigerator handles, your phone, and faucets.<\/p>\n
If your child shows signs of illness, such as a high fever, cough,
\nsneezing, or runny nose, please keep them home until 24 hours after the
\nsymptoms pass to prevent them from spreading illness to classmates and
\nstaff. You can find our policy on absences in the district handbook.<\/p>\n
