*Ice cream is back! *Student Council will begin selling ice cream this Friday,
\nSept. 25, at all four lunch periods. Ice cream is $0.75 and there are four
\nflavors to choose from. Then throughout the year we will introduce a new
\nflavor, just to make things even sweeter!<\/p>\n
Attention 7th and 8th grade girls!!! If you’re interested in joining the
\nSFMS dance team, please sign up in the office anytime between now and October
\n11th.<\/p>\n
Harmann Studios will be here Monday, October 5th right after school to take
\nCross Country and Volleyball pictures. Coaches will hand out order
\nenvelopes if you are interested in ordering pictures.<\/p>\n
I will be offering two groups in October\/November. These groups are for
\ngrades 6-8. Both groups are briefly explained below. Each group will meet
\nfor six weeks, once per week, during your lunch\/recess period. If you are
\ninterested in joining one of the two groups, please let me know by Monday,
\nSeptember 28. Groups will begin the week of October 5 and run through the

*Study Skill Strategies Group*<\/p>\n
Life in middle school can be busy. Changing classes, coping with different
\nteachers\u2019 styles & rules, following a schedule that can be confusing and
\ngetting homework done are all a part of your daily life. This group will
\noffer tips, techniques and strategies to help school be more manageable.
\nTopics may include: organization skills, listening & taking notes, tips on
\nreading & writing, study techniques and time management.<\/p>\n
*Teen Success Group*<\/p>\n
How do you define success? Is it getting good grades? Having lots of
\nfriends? Making a particular athletic team? No matter what your vision of
\nsuccess, there are certain personal qualities and skills that can help make
\nyou successful. Topics may include: health & fitness, intrapersonal
\nskills, friendships, goal setting, decision making, conflict management and
\nself-determination.<\/p>\n
Do you like meeting new people? Do you like learning new things while
\nhaving fun? Would you like to exhibit your creations, or pets, at the
\nfair? If so, then 4H just might be right for you. Come and see what 4H is
\nall about at the Open House this Thursday, September 24. It will be held
\nfrom 6:30 – 7:30 pm in the Youth Building on the south end of the Fair
\nGrounds. Meet people from various clubs in the county. Talk to members
\ninvolved in a multitude of projects and decide if some of those projects
\nmight be what you are looking for. Come and have some fun!<\/p>\n
Mrs. Charbonneau and Mrs. Fiorini are offering an Arts Enrichment
\nOpportunity to Sheboygan Falls Middle School students. On Wednesday,
\nOctober 7th, 2015, we will travel by bus to the John Michael Kohler Art
\nCenter in Sheboygan to attend *Alash!*<\/p>\n
\u201cAbsolutely stunning.\u201d \u2014Washington Post<\/p>\n
Masters of throat singing, a remarkable technique for singing multiple
\npitches at the same time, the<\/p>\n
three-member Alash Ensemble brings the beautiful and exotic sounds of inner
\nAsia to Sheboygan.<\/p>\n
Participating students will report to the auditorium at 12:15 PM on
\nWednesday, October 7th for a departure from school at 12:20 PM sharp! We
\nwill travel by bus from the middle school to Sheboygan. We will return to
\nthe middle school at approximately 1:45 pm, at which time the student will
\nreport to their regularly scheduled classrooms.<\/p>\n
We\u2019d like to offer this opportunity to the* Grade 7 and 8 chorus music
\nstudents first. * The Music Department, through the recent fundraising
\nevent, is *generously* covering the cost of the bus ticket! The cost of
\nthe theater is $5.00 per student. Checks should be made payable to SFMS.
\nWe are *limited in the number of student tickets reserved for this
\nperformance*. If interested in attending, return your permission slip to
\nMrs. Fiorini or Mrs. Charbonneau *no later than Friday, October 2nd *to
\nreserve your seat.<\/p>\n
*PARENTS*\u2026We are also in need of a few adult chaperons. Please indicate
\nyour wish to assist and return your fee of $10.00 along with your students
\npermission slip. You will be contacted once we receive your indication to
\nassist.<\/p>\n
*Future Falconettes Dance Mini-Camp for students in Grades 5-8: *<\/p>\n
The Sheboygan Falls Varsity Dance Team will be holding a Dance Mini-Camp on
\nthe afternoon of Friday, October 9. Kids will learn a routine and perform
\nat the football halftime that night. The cost is $25 in advance or $30 at
\nthe door and includes a T-shirt, Poms, and Dinner! Registration forms have
\nbeen sent home and additional forms are available in the office. Forms
\nmust be returned to the school office by Wednesday, September 23 to receive
\nthe discounted price. No payment is due until check-in on October 9.<\/p>\n
Mrs. Charbonneau would like to start offering clubs during recess – These
\nclubs would be available to any student who would like to explore these
\ninstruments more or has experience already. If you are interested, please
\nstop by Mrs. Charbonneau for a pass. FYI – These clubs would run until
\nOct.2.<\/p>\n
