\nCANDY!* Candy will be *shipped overseas to our courageous troops *(who
\ncould sure use a treat or two!) serving our country in the Middle East. In
\nreturn, you will be doing good things for others! It\u2019s all about MAKING A

\n* Attention Grade 7 & 8 Boys Basketball Players: * The beginning of your
\nseason is rapidly approaching. Before the first day of practice on October
\n24 after school in MS gym 3:30-5, you need to have all of your paperwork
\ncompleted and turned in to the office. Don’t leave it for the last minute
\nbecause you may need a physical exam, which involves a visit to a doctor.
\nThe necessary forms are on the middle school web site or in the office.

Calling all artists! To promote “Waste-Free Lunch” coming up soon in our
\ndistrict, we are looking for students to design a poster promoting reducing
\nwaste and trash at lunch. If you want to participate and want to try
\nwinning some prizes, please see Mrs. Fischer in the art room for the paper

*It\u2019s time to sign up for MS conferences:* Tuesday, October 18th 4-7pm.
\nHere are the steps when signing up for conferences go to the district
\nwebsite and click on Family on top, then to the right go to Family
\nResources. Half way down on the page you will see an icon that says Parent
\nTeacher Conference Registration. Click on the school on the right hand
\nside. If you need assistance call the MS at 467-7880. Please limit your
\nchild to 2 teachers, this will help allow room for everyone to get a time
\nslot. If you feel the need to meet with more than 2 teachers for each
\nchild, please e-mail those teachers to schedule at another time. Fifth
\ngrade parents will be getting a note in their child\u2019s folder letting them
\nknow which teacher to schedule conferences with. It will be with just their
\nhomeroom teacher. That teacher will have all your child\u2019s information to
\nshare with you from the other teachers that your child has. Thank you for
\nall your cooperation with scheduling conferences.<\/p>\n
The eighth grade class will be participating in a Coastal Restoration
\nStewardship Day on October 25, 2016. This citizen science program connects
\nto environmental concepts covered in science class and our Make a
\nDifference Week focus of Attitude of Gratitude. On October 25th we will
\nbe leaving school at 9:00 to go to King Park to plant native Dune Plants.
\nUpon our return to school, about 1:00, we will be eating lunch where
\nstudents will have the option of eating hot lunch.

Hello Students! New Falcon Way prizes have recently been added to the
\nprize case. On your way out for lunch break, stop to check them out.
\nRemember to enter your Falcon Feather for a chance to win one of the

\nWilson Volleyball, and NEW LED Water Speakers. The next drawing in October
\n21st. Last week, we focused on making good choices while on the
\nplayground. This week, our focus area will be EXPECTED behavior
\nwhile waiting in line to enter the cafeteria. Remember, it is EXPECTED
\nthat all students are keeping their hands and feet to themselves and are
\nusing a quiet voice when waiting to enter the cafeteria for lunch (#1 or #2
\nvoice). Keep making choices that are SAFE, RESPONSIBLE, and RESPECTFUL!<\/p>\n
