Attitude of Gratitude quote for MAD Week: \u201cGratitude can transform common
\ndays into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy and change ordinary
\nopportunities into blessings.\u201d Have you ever considered keeping a
\nGratitude Journal? Research studies have shown that keeping a 5 minute a
\nday gratitude journal will increase your long term well being more than
\nwinning a million dollars in the lottery.<\/p>\n

This week is the last week of National Bully Prevention Month! This week we
\nare also celebrating our Make A Difference Week by having an Attitude of
\nGratitude!<\/p>\n
\nYou can all make a difference! Always be kind and make everyone feel
\nwelcome! It\u2019s never okay to criticize or be mean to someone because he or
\nshe is different from you. We feel good about ourselves when other people
\ncare about our feelings and are kind to us. So make a difference by being
\nkind to everyone, even if they are different!<\/p>\n
Thank you to all of those who supported our Bully Free cause by wearing
\nblack today and throughout the month of October! Remember to follow this
\nmonth\u2019s bullying tips and to treat your classmates well! Always be kind and
\nmake others feel welcome! This helps make our school a safer and friendlier
\nplace to be. Remember that everyone can do something to stop bullying and

The Varsity basketball coaches will be holding a couple Skill Days next
\nweek for the players signed up for 3rd-8th grade basketball. The Skill
\nDays will cover fundamentals and drills that the Varsity coaches feel will
\nbenefit the youth players.<\/p>\n

*AUTUMN SCIENCE CHALLENGE~ *Challenge- Use scientific principles to<\/p>\n
determine what \u201csubstance\u201d to place into a two liter bottle, which will<\/p>\n
best allow the bottle to roll slooooowly down an inclined ramp. Experiment
\nand design your bottle at home and bring it to school during the week
\nof October 31st to compete!<\/p>\n
*AUTUMN MATH CHALLENGE~* You are the caterer of a Halloween Picnic! Use
\nyour math smarts to manage the many tasks needed for a successful event!
\nWork on the challenge independently and then share on Monday, November
\n7th in the ACTION Room.<\/p>\n

Hello Sheboygan Falls Middle Schoolers! This Friday, October 28th, the
\nFalcon Way will be hosting the 4th annual Movie Night here at the middle
\nschool from 3:30 – 5:00. The featured movie is Hotel Transylvania II.
\nThere is no admission fee. Family members are welcome to join. The
\nstudent council will be selling snacks for a small fee during the movie.
\nPick up permission slips in the office or next to the Falcon Way Prize
\nBox. Permission slips in the school office.<\/p>\n
Attention SFMS Staff and Students – Did you know that in Wisconsin alone
\nmore than 200,000 people are diagnosed with breast cancer each year? Let’s
\nshow our support and wear pink on Monday, October 31st as Breast Cancer
\nAwareness month comes to a close. Wouldn’t it be neat to have the entire
\nschool filled with pink to show our support?<\/p>\n
This year the SDSF, in conjunction with Make a Difference Week, is striving
\nto create less trash during lunch. A typical American school kid
\ngenerates 67 pounds of discarded lunchbox packaging waste per school year.
\nThat\u2019s more than 18,000 pounds annually for an average-size elementary
\nschool, which adds up nationwide to more than 1 billion pounds annually. A
\ntypical U.S. family using disposables generates more than 4,000 pieces of
\nlunch trash unnecessarily each year, according to our ECO lunchboxes
\nLunchbox Waste Study 2010. The 1st WASTE FREE LUNCH is Oct. 26th.
\nDomino\u2019s pizza, Steamed Broccoli Florets, Ranch Salad, Fresh Blueberries,
\nFresh Apple. There will not be extra containers to put ketchup and dip in.
\nJust place the condiments on your tray with the food you’re using it on.
\nOn the back are a few ideas to help you pack your own waste-free lunch.<\/p>\n
*Attention 7th and 8th grade students! We will be holding
\nthe Falcon Store on Wednesday, October 26th in the cafeteria. This is an
\nopportunity for all students to spend their falcon feathers earned by
\n\u201cstaying above the line\u201d on awesome prizes like snacks, school supplies,
\nand more!*<\/p>\n
*For one falcon feather you can purchase items like pens or pencils. For
\ntwo, you can purchase fruit roll-ups, suckers, or Sharpies. Three feathers
\ncan get you chips. With four feathers, you can buy cool notebooks or
\nsnacks. Those who have earned five feathers can buy Gatorade!*<\/p>\n
