Sheboygan Falls Middle School students will have the opportunity to
\nparticipate in the annual *Talent Fest on Friday, January 13th, 2017, at
\n6:30PM in the middle school auditorium.* Students interested in
\nparticipating in the Talent Fest should begin to think about what type of
\nperformance they wish to display. Students may perform in only one act
\n(unless it is a larger school organized ensemble), which can be either a
\nsolo or group performance. Types of performances presented in the past
\ninclude singing, dancing, musical presentations, short skits, juggling, or
\nany act that displays a student\u2019s talent. Now is the time to determine if
\nyou wish to participate, in what way, and with whom. Performances will be
\nlimited to 2 minutes. Students who elect to sing must be prepared to do so
\nwithout singing over the voice on a cd. Singers should include the name of
\nsong they will perform on the permission slip and Mrs. Charbonneau will
\nprovide a cd of the music for you to practice with. Parents, please assist
\nyour child in assuring that the performance, music and lyrics, and costumes
\nare appropriate for our middle school audience. A printed copy of the
\nlyrics to music to be played or sung must be brought to the first rehearsal.<\/p>\n
Students wishing to participate must be willing to thoroughly prepare and
\npractice at home. Participants *must attend either* of the scheduled
\nrehearsal dates, as indicated below. Acts must be well prepared, polished,
\nand ready to perform at the two rehearsals. The rehearsal dates are;<\/p>\n
\u2022 *Monday, January 9th from 3:15-4:30PM*<\/p>\n
*\u2022 Thursday, January 12th from 3:15-4:30PM*<\/p>\n
*Students wishing to participate must complete the attached permission slip
\nand performance sign-up sheet and return it to Mrs. Charbonneau by Tuesday,
\nJanuary 3rd, 2017. Should you require further information regarding the
\nTalent Fest, please do not hesitate to contact us.*<\/p>\n
ATTENTION 5th GRADE MOVE IT GROUPS – The Move It groups will be recording
\ntheir routine during lunch recess on Monday, December 12th. Make sure the
\nroutines are practiced and ready to go. Please see Mrs. Stowers for a pass.<\/p>\n
\nDecember 9th is National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day. Students & Staff can
\nwear their ugly sweaters!<\/p>\n
*What’s the ugliest sweater you have?* Student Council is sponsoring an
\nugly sweater contest. Wear your ugly sweater to school on Thursday,
\nDecember 22. We will take your picture at lunch. We have some cool props
\nyou can use in the picture. Then we’ll vote for a winner in different
\ncategories. We even have little trophies this year! Let’s get into the
\nholiday spirit with ugly sweaters!<\/p>\n

*Attention Girls Basketball Players:* The start of your season is about a
\nmonth away! Please sign up in the office and make sure all of your
\npaperwork (physical exam, athletic code, parent permission, concussion, &
\nfee payment) has been completed before the first day of practice, January
\n3, 2017. There will be an *optional *parent meeting on Jan 3 to review the
\nbasketball packet provided the first day of practice and answer any
\nquestions.<\/p>\n

*PARENTS…The ACTION Room is opening a BOARD GAME CAFE and is looking for
\ngently used, middle school student appropriate board games, card games,
\netc.* If you have any on hand that your kids have outgrown, we’d welcome
\nyour donation. The BOARD GAME CAFE will be “open” at least once a week,
\nwith the day of the week shared in student announcements and posted on the
\nACTION Room door. (… it will not necessarily always be the same day of
\nthe week, depending on other activities) Students should pick up their
\nlunch at the start of the recess\/lunch or lunch\/recess period and will
\nspend the entire 30 minutes in the ACTION Room eating and playing games.<\/p>\n

\n6th in all ELA\/Integrated classrooms. The final grade level, school
\nchampionship and regional qualifying rounds will be held in the ACTION Room
\nduring the week of Jan. 9th. Students can pick up a list of words to study
\nfrom their ELA\/Integrated teacher or from the ACTION Room bulletin board.
