The first day of practice is scheduled for Tuesday, January 23rd. All
\npaperwork and fees are due by that date. You can get the paperwork needed
\noff the school website (Middle School–Forms for Families) to get a head
\nstart on those items. Also, if your child needs to have a physical, please
\nget that scheduled as soon as possible because they won’t be able to
\npractice until that is completed and other forms are turned in.<\/p>\n

*Writers Workshop Competition:* Student interested in winning a certificate
\nfor free martial arts lessons at Park\u2019s Black Belt Academy (2month
\nlessons\/$187 value) Please submit an essay to the MS office by Tuesday,
\nJanuary 31st. Your essay should say why you think you should win the free
\nlessons.<\/p>\n
Students: as of 2nd semester, the library will no longer supply students
\nwith headphones. If you are in need of headphones, they can be purchased
\ninexpensively at a dollar store.<\/p>\n
Announcement – The 101 Dalmatian sign-up is now posted on the middle school
\noffice window. Auditions will be January 16th and 17th from 3:15-4:00.
\nStudents auditions will be about 5-7 minutes in length. They can leave
\nwhen they are finished. *Students need to have their $40.00 fee paid and
\nall paperwork in to participate in the musical.*<\/p>\n

\nGeographic Bee will be held in January, with the final grade level and
\nschool level bees to follow in the ACTION Room in early February. Students
\ncan prepare by visiting the National Geographic Study Corner
\n
\nparticipate in the annual *Talent Fest on Friday, January 13th, 2017, at
\n6:30PM in the middle school auditorium.* Students interested in
\nparticipating in the Talent Fest should begin to think about what type of
\nperformance they wish to display. Students may perform in only one act
\n(unless it is a larger school organized ensemble), which can be either a
\nsolo or group performance. Types of performances presented in the past
\ninclude singing, dancing, musical presentations, short skits, juggling, or
\nany act that displays a student\u2019s talent. Now is the time to determine if
\nyou wish to participate, in what way, and with whom. Performances will be
\nlimited to 2 minutes. Students who elect to sing must be prepared to do so
\nwithout singing over the voice on a cd. Singers should include the name of
\nsong they will perform on the permission slip and Mrs. Charbonneau will
\nprovide a cd of the music for you to practice with. Parents, please assist
\nyour child in assuring that the performance, music and lyrics, and costumes
\nare appropriate for our middle school audience. A printed copy of the
\nlyrics to music to be played or sung must be brought to the first rehearsal.<\/p>\n
\npractice at home. Participants *must attend either* of the scheduled
\nrehearsal dates, as indicated below. Acts must be well prepared, polished,
\nand ready to perform at the two rehearsals. The rehearsal dates are;<\/p>\n
\nperformance sign-up sheet and return it to Mrs. Charbonneau by Tuesday,
