“5th and 6th graders, please stop in the gym before heading to recess
\nWednesday,
\nApril 12th, to vote for your favorite structure built out of cans that you
\nall donated. These structures were built by the 8th grade class. All cans
\nwill then be donated to the local food pantry.<\/p>\n

If you ordered a DVD of the musical is it ready. Please remember you need
\nto pay $5.00 for it in order to pick it up if you have not paid for it
\nalready. They will be in Mrs. Charbonneau’s room.<\/p>\n

*Boys\u2019 Basketball announcement:* Any 8th grade boys basketball players
\ninterested in playing basketball next year as a freshman, there will be a
\nbasketball meeting this Tuesday, April 11th at 11:04 in Mr. Frohling\u2019s
\nroom. (room #300)<\/p>\n

*Parents please be aware that there have been complaints from neighbors so
\nplease remember during pick up after school that you cannot block driveways
\nand have to be at least 4 ft. from the driveway. Thank you*<\/p>\n

*Summer School Announcement*<\/p>\n

*Reminder*: Summer School Registration closes on April 18th. There are

*8th Grade Parents:*<\/p>\n

*On April 21st students will be going to River Park following Forward
\nTesting. We will be gone both 9th and 10th hrs weather permitting. Students
\nare allowed to bring a basketball, football, etc. to school that day, but
\nthese items must remain in their lockers until we leave for the park. If
\nyou have questions, please contact the 8th grade team.*<\/p>\n

8th graders in Art: You have a couple weeks left to turn in your $5 for
\nthe Art Museum field trip! Money is due April 20 to Mrs. Fischer. As of
\nright now, we have 6 parent chaperones signed up to help! (Thanks,
\nparents!) We could use 4 more. Contact Mrs. Fischer if interested.<\/p>\n

ATTENTION Falcon Students: The Falcon Way drawing for the ALL EXCLUSIVE VIP
\nSection during the student and staff basketball game will be announced
\nWednesday morning at 8:00. You and one other friend will receive VIP front
\nrow seating along with all you can eat popcorn and drinks. Several
\nfeathers will be drawn – don’t miss your chance! Good Luck!<\/p>\n

*St. Jude MATH-A-THON*:! Over the past thirteen years, SFMS has raised over
\n$34,856.00 for children at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital!! Between
\nnow and May 5th, students will have the opportunity to participate in the
\n2017 SFMS St. Jude Math-a-thon. Sign up, collect sponsors, solve cool math
\nproblems, and earn prizes*…but most importantly*, help the children and
\nfamilies at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The math class *with the
\nhighest number of contributing participants* will earn a class popcorn
\nparty!!! Students will also be eligible to receive prizes from the St. Jude
\norganizers. Students can sign up to participate through their math
\nteachers. Once sign up is complete, Funbooks will be ordered and
\ndistributed. Together we can make a difference!!!<\/p>\n

Are you looking to do something musical this summer? Check out the *Lakeland
\nUniversity Music Camp*! The camp runs from July 23rd – July 29th and it
\nincludes two large choirs, three bands, an orchestra, and three piano
\nensembles. Campers also pick their own electives such as Ukulele, Show
\nChoir, Jazz Band, Dance, Yoga, and many more! For more information, check

With the beginning of a new season, we are gearing up for our biggest and
\nbrightest summer opportunity: 4-H Summer Camp. Our 4-H Summer Camp is an
\nexcellent opportunity for families and youth to see what 4-H has to offer.
\nThis year we will be holding our 4-H Summer Camp at Upham Woods in
\nWisconsin Dells, WI starting on July 15th and ending on July 19th, 2017. Forms
\ncan be picked up in the MS office.<\/p>\n

*SF Rec Department Information*<\/p>\n

*Rec League Baseball\/Softball – 4K-8th Grade*<\/p>\n

The Sheboygan Falls Rec Department is accepting registrations for
\nsummer Rec League baseball, softball, and tee ball until Friday, April 7th.
\nRecreation leagues are available for boys and girls from 4K-8th grade
\n(current year’s grade).<\/p>\n

*Baseball Fundamentals Camp – 2nd-8th Grade*<\/p>\n

The Rec Department is partnering with the SFHS baseball team to offer a
\nbaseball fundamentals camp for 2nd through 8th grade players. Players will
\nlearn from the Sheboygan Falls High School coaches and develop the
\nfundamentals\u2014throwing, pitching, fielding and hitting. Players will partake
\nin some of the same instructional, competitive, and fun drills as the high
\nschool programs does and will have a chance to win some prizes! The camp
\nwill be held on consecutive Saturdays (April 22nd & April 29th) with a cost
\nof $25.<\/p>\n

Attention 8th grade students in Mrs. Fischer’s Art Classes: Friday, May 12,
\nwe will be going on a field trip to the Milwaukee Art Museum. We will
\nleave around 8:30 and get back around 2:30. We need about 10 adult
\nchaperones (a parent or grandparent, etc.) for our trip. Parents, if you
\nare interested, please email Mrs. Fischer so we can hold a spot for you!
\nChaperones are free. Background check forms for chaperones are available in
\nthe office or on the district website.<\/p>\n

*Health Tip*<\/p>\n

Choking<\/p>\n

There are several things that contribute to choking. All of these things
\ncan happen right in our own lunch room.<\/p>\n

1. Trying to swallow large pieces of poorly chewed food.<\/p>\n

2. Eating while talking excitedly or laughing<\/p>\n

3. Eating to fast.<\/p>\n

4. Walking, playing, or running with food or objects in the mouth.<\/p>\n

The universal sign of choking is to put both your hands over your throat.
\nThere are people in the lunch room who are trained to help you if choking
\noccurs. Someone who is coughing should continue to cough. If you are
\nchoking and cannot talk and cannot cough given the universal choking sign.
\nHelp will be on the way.<\/p>\n
