*\u201cA\u201d Day*<\/p>\n
Sheboygan Falls Middle School students will have the opportunity to
\nparticipate in the annual *Talent Fest on Friday, January 12th, 2018, at
\n6:30PM in the middle school auditorium.* Students interested in
\nparticipating in the Talent Fest should begin to think about what type of
\nperformance they wish to display. Students may perform in only one act
\n(unless it is a larger school organized ensemble), which can be either a
\nsolo or group performance. Types of performances presented in the past
\ninclude singing, dancing, musical presentations, short skits, juggling, or
\nany act that displays a student\u2019s talent. Now is the time to determine if
\nyou wish to participate, in what way, and with whom. Performances will be
\nlimited to 2 minutes. Students who elect to sing must be prepared to do so
\nwithout singing over the voice on a cd. Singers should include the name of
\nsong they will perform on the permission slip and Mrs. Charbonneau will
\nprovide a cd of the music for you to practice with. Parents, please assist
\nyour child in assuring that the performance, music and lyrics, and costumes
\nare appropriate for our middle school audience. A printed copy of the
\nlyrics to music to be played or sung must be brought to the first rehearsal.<\/p>\n
\nStudents wishing to participate must be willing to thoroughly prepare and
\npractice at home. Participants *must attend either* of the scheduled
\nrehearsal dates, as indicated below. Acts must be well prepared, polished,
\nand ready to perform at the two rehearsals. The rehearsal dates are;<\/p>\n
\n\u2022 *Monday, January 8th from 3:15-4:30PM*<\/p>\n
*\u2022 Thursday, January 11th from 3:15-4:30PM*<\/p>\n
\nThe program begins at 6:30 PM in the auditorium, and will end at
\napproximately 8:00PM. Students should arrive at the auditorium at least 20
\nminutes prior to show time. The students must bring\/wear their costume and
\nany props needed, unless they have elected to leave these items with
\ndirector after their final rehearsal date. Students must be seated in the
\nback of the auditorium, in show order, as predetermined by director.<\/p>\n
\n*Students wishing to participate can pick up the forms outside Mrs.
\nCharbonneau’s room and return them to her no later than Jan. 2. Thanks!*<\/p>\n
GIRLS BASKETBALL PLAYERS: The start of your season is less than a month
\naway! Please sign up in the office ASAP and make sure you have all of the
\nnecessary paperwork taken care of before the season starts on January 2nd.<\/p>\n
\nMessage from the Crossing Guard: For safety concerns could all students
\nplease stay on the same side as the school when crossing by Blessed
\nTrinity. It is too hard when there are kids trying to cross on both sides
\nof the street when crossing Giddings Street. Thank you Box Tops Contest
\nReminder: The contest ends Wednesday December 6th at the end of the day.
\nAll box tops should be labeled with the Wednesday Falcon time teacher and
\nput into the box located in the office. The winner of the popcorn party
\nwill be held before Christmas break. FBLA will meet in Ms. Probst’s room
\n(204) on Thursday at 3:15. Middle School students are starting puberty
\nand hormones are kicking in. At this time, hygiene needs can change
\ndrastically. Please do not assume that your child understands these
\nchanges and how to handle it.<\/p>\n
\nHandwashing- Clean hands and fingernails are one of the best ways to
\nprotect yourself and family from getting sick. Scrub for 20 seconds using
\nsoap and water.<\/p>\n
\nShowering\/Bathing- Children need daily bathing\/showering. They need to use
\na mild soap and concentrate on their face, hands, feet, underarms, groin
\nand bottom. Faces should be washed twice daily.<\/p>\n
\nHair Washing- The frequency of hair washing depends on your child’s type of
\nhair and activity level. Children with oily hair may need to wash their
\nhair more frequently.<\/p>\n
\nUnderarm care- At this age, sweat glands become more active and may cause
\nan odor and more sweat. It is a good time to start thinking about using a
\ndeodorant\/antiperspirant.<\/p>\n
\nOral Hygiene- Brush teeth at least twice daily (and floss, too). This will
\nprevent tooth decay and bad breath.<\/p>\n
\nChanging Clothes- Have your child wear a new set of clothing daily
\n(especially socks and underwear). This is an important part of hygiene.<\/p>\n
\nAlways remember your child\u2019s own doctor is a great resource and you can
\naddress any further questions.<\/p>\n

\nopportunity to win a bonus prize this week Friday. Every time the Falcon
\nWay offers a bonus prize, the rule will\/may be different, so please pay
\nattention! This week\u2019s bonus prize will be a special treat made by the
\nhigh school culinary class. The bonus prize will be rewarded to ONE
\n7th\/8th grade (Friday Falcon Time) class and ONE 5th\/6th grade (Friday Falcon
\nTime) class. In order to participate in this bonus prize, Thursday Falcon
\nTime teachers will gather Falcon Feathers on Thursday. Your Falcon Time
\nclass can gather as many or as few Falcon Feathers as they would like.
\nTeachers, put a rubber band around the feathers you collected. On the back
\nof one of the feathers, write your name (teachers\u2019 name), room number,
\namount of students in your class and amount of feathers you collected. The
\nfeathers need to be turned in by the end of 5th or 6th hour Falcon Time on
\nThursday (December 7th). The winning Falcon Time classes will be announced
\nduring Friday (December 8th) morning announcement and your treat will be
\nprovided to you to enjoy during your Falcon Time on Friday. Good Luck! In
\naddition to the Falcon Time winners, FOUR individual students will be
\nselected at random from the Falcon Feathers that were turned in, to select
\na prize from Ms. Markofski’s office. The winners will be announced on

\nthe OFFICE on Thursday during 5th and 6th hour Falcon Time for those who
