Students in B Day 8th grade Art:<\/p>\n

We are starting self portraits in Art on Monday. (or it could be a friend,
\nor a pet) Since we are using the grid method, please email or print out a
\nphoto to use and have it ready to go Monday.<\/p>\n

Due to a conflict, the FBLA wrap-up will take place after break. We
\napologize, as this is a very busy time of year, and are working around
\nother schedules so that all can attend. Thank you for your understanding!<\/p>\n

Here is the Falcon Way Announcement YOU have been waiting for. Next
\nWednesday is the student and staff basketball game. YOU have the
\nopportunity for a chance to sit in the VIP section of the game. All you
\nneed to do is enter a Falcon Feather in the BONUS PRIZE BOX located on top
\nof the Falcon Case just before you exit the playground doors. If your
\nFalcon Feather is drawn, you and one friend will have the opportunity to
\nsit in the VIP section. The VIP section will offer you the opportunity to
\nhave front row seats to the big game along with all you can eat popcorn and
\ndrinks. The drawing will be Wednesday morning. Good Luck!<\/p>\n

Camp Anokijig Writing contest:<\/p>\n

HS<\/p>\n

Fifty-one music students are busy preparing for the annual Solo & Ensemble
\nFestival scheduled for Saturday, March 24th at New Holstein High School.
\nSFMS will be represented in a total of 55 solo and small ensemble entries
\nincluding Show Choir and Jazz Ensemble. We would like to thank our parents
\nahead of time for supporting their aspiring young musicians by attending
\ntheir performances. Events are scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m. A
\nPreliminary Schedule will be available March 9th and a Final Schedule and
\nSite Map will be available March 16th. Please contact Mrs. Winkler at
\ncwinkler@sheboyganfalls.k12.wi.us<\/a> if you are able to volunteer your time as
\na homeroom chaperone.<\/p>\n

Any seventh and eighth grade students interested in Track and Field should
\nsign up in the office starting March 6th. Track and Field is a great way to
\nlearn how to compete while you improve speed, strength, and endurance while
\nhaving a great time with friends and teammates. Everyone
\nparticipates–there is no bench in Track and Field! Practice starts on April
\n3rd (the first day after break), and meets begin April 16. All athletes
\nneed to have paperwork completed (athletic code, concussion form, physical)
\nand fees turned in before the first practice to participate. There is a
\nparent meeting at 5pm on April 3rd in the gym. If you have any questions
\nabout the forms, please ask in the middle school office.<\/p>\n

Music In Our Schools Month\u00ae or \u201cMIOSM\u00ae\u201d is \u200bthe \u200bNational Association for
\nMusic Education’s \u200bannual celebration during March which engages music
\neducators, students, and communities from around the country in promoting
\nthe benefits of high quality music education programs in schools. Music In
\nOur Schools Month\u00ae began as a single statewide Advocacy Day and celebration
\nin New York in 1973 and grew over the decades to become a month-long
\ncelebration of school music in 1985.<\/p>\n

\nTo show our support we will feature a music “quote of the day” in the daily
\nannouncements. We also encourage students to wear shirts that promote
\nmusic. “Music Mondays” will be our big day but feel free to show your
\nsupport for music any\/all days of the week.<\/p>\n

*St. Jude MATH-A-THON:!* Over the past fourteen years, *SFMS students* have
\nraised over *$36,015.00* for children at St. Jude Children’s Research
\nHospital!! Between now and April 6th, students will have the opportunity
\nto participate in the 2018 SFMS St. Jude Math-a-thon. Participants have the
\nopportunity to earn great prizes…but most importantly, to help the
\nchildren and families at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The math
\nclass with the highest number of contributing participants will earn a
\nclass popcorn party!!! Together we can make a difference!!! Questions???

*MATH-A-THON TIMELINE!*<\/p>\n

*Between March 5th and April 5th,* students work on Funbooks and collect
\npledge donations<\/p>\n

*Friday, April 6th! *Students return their pledge donations in an envelope
\nto Mrs. Fiorini. Please include student’s full name and grade level on the
\nenvelope. Funbooks can be kept by the student and students can continue to
\nwork on these if not yet complete.<\/p>\n

*By Friday, April 20th,* the winner of the POPCORN party will be announced.
\nThe math class with the most contributing (meaning submitting some
\ndonation, whether $1.00 or $100.00) students will be selected the winner!<\/p>\n

*Students who have earned additional prizes from St Jude’s will receive
\nthose prizes sometime in May. Please watch the student announcements for
\nwhen and where students can pick these up. *<\/p>\n

Dental Health<\/p>\n

Did you know that it takes 24 hours for bacteria in your mouth to form a
\nsticky film called plaque. If plaque is not removed with proper brushing
\nand flossing it coats your teeth and becomes tartar. Tartar can only be
\nremoved by your dentist or hygienist. If you do not have the tartar removed
\nyour jaw bone starts to dissolve and your teeth can fall out. Keep your
\nteeth by daily brushing and flossing! Make regular appointments with your
\ndentist or contact your school nurse and take advantage of Lakeshore
\nHealth’s Dental clinic that comes right to our schools and is going on
\nright now!<\/p>\n
