Stress can have
negative effects on your health over time. Some examples of identifying
stress are listed below:

· Irritability and moodiness

· Withdrawing from or refusing to participate in activities they
previously enjoyed

· Expressing worry

· Complaining

· Crying

· Being fearful

· Clinging to a parent or teacher

· Changes in sleep patterns: sleeping too much or too little

· Changes in eating: eating too much or not enough

· Teens may be better able to explain what they are feeling but
may withdraw from family, choosing instead to open up to friends. While
this is a normal part of growing up, you also need to be aware if your teen
withdraws too much, avoiding interaction with parents.

Both young children and teens may have physical signs of stress including
headaches and stomachaches. They may also use different words, such as
“worried,” “confused,” “annoyed” or “angry” or put themselves down, such as
“I am stupid.” or “No one likes me.”

There are ways to help yourself and students manage stress. Some examples
include: talking with someone, acknowledging that everyone experiences
stress at some point in their life, plan fun activities, get outside and
exercise, and look for or help your child find solutions vs. blaming
others.

Your nurses want you to eat right, get appropriate amounts of sleep, and
get out an exercise for at least 20 min a day, and push that stress away!

*APRIL*

19 Forward Exam – 8th Gr.

20 Forward Exam – 8th Gr.

23 Forward Exam – 6th Gr.

Jazz Concert – MS/HS Jazz Ensembles – 7:00 p.m. – HS Auditorium MS/HS Jazz
Ensembles & Generations Big Band $5 Admission

24 Forward Exam – 6th Gr.

25 Forward Exam – 5th Gr.

26 Forward Exam – 5th Gr.

27 Middle School Dance

8th grade field trip to Oshkosh 11-2:30

30 Forward Exam – 7th Gr.

*MAY*

  1 Forward Exam – 7th Gr.

  3 Mid-Quarter

  7 6-8 Bands Dress Rehearsal – 7:55-9:45 a.m. – HS

                        6-8 Bands Spring Concert – 7:00 p.m. – HS

                        Student Council Meeting 3:15-4pm

11 Team 200 Blue Harbor Outing

14 6-8 Chorus Dress Rehearsal – 7:55-9:45 – HS

                        6-8 Chorus Spring Concert – 7:00 p.m. – HS

18 Jazz in the Park – MS/HS Jazz Ensembles – Settlers’
Park

21 Student Council Meeting 3:15-4pm

23 8th Grade Band – Band Festival at the Kalahari

25-28 No School

29 5th Grade Band Parent Meeting – 6:30 p.m. – MS
Auditorium

*JUNE*

4 5th Grade Civil War Reenactment – Kohler

  5 8th Grade Recognition – HS Auditorium

  6 8th Grade Trip

7 Last day for students grades 5-7 (Early Release 11:10 a.m.)/8th
Grade No School

Grades Due at 3:45 p.m.

*Sheboygan Falls Middle School* *Student Announcements* *4/19/2018* *“A” Day* *After-school reminders for SFMS students and parents:* Pick up is not allowed in the back by the busses.
