*The annual Veterans Day program* will be held on Tuesday, November 11, at
\nthe Middle School. Students – we need your participation to make this
\nevent memorable for the men and women who have served our country in the
\nArmed Forces. If you have a skit to perform, an essay to read or some
\nother idea to show respect to our veterans for the service they gave,
\nplease let your teacher or Ms. Samse know. I am counting on you to make
\nthis program a success. Ideas from parents are welcome too!<\/p>\n

*Spirit Week *is Oct. 6 – 10. Spirit Week is a fun way to show your school
\nspirit and build community. Here are the events for the week so you can
\nstart planning your wardrobe:<\/p>\n
– Monday is “Fandom Day” – Everyone is a fan of something, whether it is
\nHarry Potter, One Direction, or Aaron Rodgers. Wear something on
\nMonday that will show what you are a fan of.<\/p>\n
– Tuesday is “Twin Day” – Find a friend who will dress just like you.<\/p>\n
– Wednesday is “Lounge Day” – Wear sweatpants and a sweatshirt or even
\npajama bottoms and a t-shirt. Don’t forget the slippers.<\/p>\n
– Thursday is “Flamboyant Day” – Sparkle and shine! Get out that neon or
\nthose rhinestones, or mix and match. Wear something that stands out.<\/p>\n
– Friday is “Falcon-wear Day” – Show you support for the Falcon homecoming
\ngame that night by wearing anything purple and gold.<\/p>\n

The votes are in and have been tallied for THE FALCON WAY MOVIE NIGHT! The
\nmovie chosen by the students of Sheboygan Falls Middle School is Matilda.
\nMatilda will be shown in the auditorium after school on Friday, October 3rd
\nfrom 3:30 -5:00. There is no fee to attend this event. There will be
\npopcorn, beverages, and snacks sold for a small fee. Permission slips are
\navailable this week and are located in the school office. Permission slips
\ncan be turned in to the school office any time this week OR you can bring
\nyour permission slip along to be turned in before the movie begins. We hope
\nto see you all there!<\/p>\n
*Future Falconettes Dance Mini-Camp for girls in Grades 5-8:*<\/p>\n
*The Sheboygan Falls Varsity Dance Team will be holding a Dance Mini-Camp
\non the afternoon of Friday, October 17. Girls will learn a routine and
\nperform at the football halftime that night. The cost is $25 in advance or
\n$30 at the door and includes a T-shirt, Poms, and Pizza! Registration
\nforms have been sent home and additional forms are available in the
\noffice. Forms must be returned to the school office by Wednesday, October

Registration is open now for Expanding Your Horizons 2014, a 6-8th grade
\ngirls STEM conference!<\/p>\n
“Expanding Your Horizons (EYH) is a one-day conference held at the
\nUniversity of Wisconsin-Madison for around 400 middle school aged (6-8th
\ngrade) girls. As part of a small group, each girl attends three career
\nsessions as well as the opening session and closing activity. Registration
\nis currently open for student participants for the 2014 conference which
\nwill take place on November 8, 2014 at UW-Madison.<\/p>\n
EYH helps girls learn about the wide range of career options for women in
\nscience, technology, engineering and math. Through hands-on workshops and
\nvisits to work places, they find out what it’s like to work in different
\ncareers. Student participants interact with professional women who work in
\na variety of fields and meet other girls who share their interests.<\/p>\n
