Concussions have become an epidemic in the United States, with millions of
mild traumatic brain injuries happening each year. On Friday, September 21st
National Concussion Awareness Day
will raise awareness about the importance of recognizing a concussion,
treating it appropriately, and supporting the injured. According to a poll
by the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center nearly 9 out of 10 adults in
the U.S. can’t correctly define a concussion. A concussion is a mild form
of brain injury and should be taken seriously. If your child suffers from a
concussion, please let your nurses know. We can help with school
accommodations.
The SFHS Music Boosters will be meeting on Monday, Sept 24 at 6 pm in
either the band or choir room. We will be discussing fundraisers and
activities for this school year.
