Please welcome to our Sheboygan Falls school family Ms. Klopf, our student teacher in the Middle School art room! Ms. Klopf comes to us from the excellent Art Education program @cuwisconsin and will be with us for all of 3rd quarter. She had the unique experience of traveling to Italy for a study abroad opportunity in early January. Then she joined us in late January, and had 3 snow days during her second week of student teaching! 😂 A memorable month for sure. Please stop by and meet Ms. Klopf if you haven’t!

Update: Enjoy your day off tomorrow! 🌨 Stay safe & stay off the roads!
In Sheboygan Falls folklore, we have some “snow rituals” we like to do the night before a huuuuuuge snowstorm so we might enjoy a day of sledding, pajamas, or catching up on naps instead of school. 😉
These are things we do:
1. Flush 3 ice cubes down toilet
2. Wear pj’s inside out & backwards
3. Sleep w spoon under your pillow ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️ For our art teacher followers, any other “snow dance” rituals you have at your school? 😀

Enjoy this beautiful 2-color reduction block print by 8th grade student.

A couple classes of 5th graders made ceramic gingerbread men with terra cotta clay. Over the weekend, one ambitious 5th grader was filled with holiday cheer, and made this sweet gingerbread house especially for her ceramic piece. Love this! 🍭🍬🏠Thanks for sharing the photo of your art at home! #gingerbreadhouse #gingerbread #ceramics #middleschoolart #holidayspirit

Students in 7B Art created handmade ornaments that are now shipped off to Madison! Each year the state capitol asks school children from around the state to create handmade ornaments that reflect Wisconsin’s unique character. This year’s theme is “America’s Dairyland”. We painted these fun cow prints on small pieces of canvas. We backed them with a sturdy board and a festive ribbon was added. If you are in Madison over the holidays, please check out the enormous Christmas tree in the Capitol Rotunda! A small piece of Sheboygan Falls will be represented. 🎄🐄 #americasdairyland #wicapitoltree #wisconsin #dairy #weloveourstate #madison #sheboyganfalls #minicanvasart #cows #moo #7thgradeart

In our class, is it perfectly normal to open a box of new art supplies together, sometimes we all go “ooooooooh”, then we admire their flawlessness, then proceed to have photo shoots with the beautiful new supplies. Pretty sure this is not a normal occurrence in, say, math class, so we win! 😉😂 #newartsupplies #jackrichesonwatercolors #satisfying #lookatalltheprettycolors #watercolor #artclassisthebestclass #arteducation

Wisconsin autumns give us an abundance of maple leaves. Pulling these beautiful shallow dishes out of the kiln is the best! 🍂🍁 Fun fact: I drove over to the old middle school and got leaves from the maple tree in the front. Gotta keep the tradition alive! Made by 5th grade students.
