Greetings, Falcon Families!
This fall, we have begun word work with our students on their own learning paths, which means we build on what each child knows.  This spelling approach is called Words Their Way, and is just one example of the innovative approaches we use with students each day.  Here is a quick youtube overview of how you can help at home:

Growing our Literacy Skills
Teachers continue to implement best practices in literacy. Their work has focused on word work, fostering student independence and providing student choice. Below students are working on Daily 5 – Listen to Reading and Words Their Way activities.

Welcome to Infinite Campus
Infinite Campus is our new Student Information System used to allow parents access to student grades and schedules. It is also used to alert parents with general announcements and emergency announcements such as snow days or school crises.
We are asking that if you have not set up your Parent Portal and checked your contact preferences, please do so using the URL link that was sent to your e-mail on Monday, September 14th.  If you did not receive the e-mail with the link, please contact the school office and they will assist you in setting up this account.  If you have already set up your parent portal account, you do not need to do anything else at this point.

Welcome Back!!!!
The students took part in a big welcome back assembly this year to build a sense of community at SFES.
The students each contributed a purple thumb print to our school Falcon which was revealed during the assembly.
Mr. Johnson then talked with the students about the bracelets they received earlier in the week.
We finished off the assembly with the SFES School song!!!

New Faces at SFES!
The 4K move from the middle school to the elementary has gone well. We are so happy to welcome the teachers, students and families to the Sheboygan Falls Elementary School community.

Bully Prevention Awareness Month
We will invite everyone, students and staff, to support our “BE A BUDDY NOT A BULLY” theme by participating in our dress-up Wednesdays in October.
October 7th—Give bullies the slip (wear slippers).

October 14th—Proud to be a Falcon Buddy (wear falcon colors)

October 21st—Hats off to Being a Buddy, Not a Bully (wear a hat)

October 28th—Picture Yourself as a Buddy (not a dress up day but a fun picture activity at SFES)

Building Art Skills
Kindergartners having fun and using their “ripping fingers” and glue sticks in the Art Room to make pumpkins for our classroom pumpkin patch.
