Mrs. Bub’s Blurbs
Greetings, Falcon Families!
There are many topics to be highlighted each month, but the concept of safety is one we think about every day.  In the past two years, our staff have worked to teach our students the reasons behind rules and expectations so that we can all work together to create our safe environment at school.  Check out our “winter playground Prezi” as a sneak peak!

Family Build Night
Opportunities in Making and STEAM Education

In keeping with the district’s commitment to innovation and STEAM education, the Sheboygan Falls Elementary School will host a MakerSpace build night on Tuesday, November 24th. Come join the fun and create your very own Can-Jo!

How does Math Work?
Several 4th grade math students worked on creating a visual model of their math thinking. Students had to creat a visual model of their story problem, then use the model to create an equation that would solve the problem. A lot of great math talk and cooperative group work took place!!!!
Even More Math Fun!
Mrs. Schad’s Kindergarten class had so much fun doing a math activity with their third grade buddies from Mrs. Dawson’s class. The students scooped out the seeds from a pumpkin to learned  about estimation and counting.

Fire Safety
Thanks to the Sheboygan Falls Fire Department

for taking the time to practice fire safety with 4K, K, and first grade students.
Mrs. Bub was able to help students learn about fire safety!

A Focus on Engineering
More STEAM Activities at the ES

Recently, third grade students were given the opportunity to practice their problem solving skills by creating methods to clean up “oil spills” taking the role of a chemical engineer.

Our second grade students were asked to enginner a spider web bridge to hold as many cubes as possible.

Bully Awareness Month Wraps Up
But we are committed year around

The students did a great job learning about how to prevent bullying this month. Even though October is designated as anti-bully month we are committed to stop bullying all year.
We’ve been working hard this month on how to be a buddy, not a bully!!!
