SFES Communicator – May 2018
May 2018
Thanks for a great school year, Falcons!
As we head into the summer, please remember that we have even more exciting changes coming to improve our schools. Summer school will occur at the high school, and we will have some adjustments to the ES office schedule as preparations are made to update parking and plan to open the NEW middle school. Please call before you visit this  summer. Otherwise, we will plan to see you at registration on July 31st at the high school (don’t forget to dress for photos).

Finally, for your planning, here is the supply list for the 2018-2019 school year.

Have an amazing summer (keep reading) and go make some memories!
Sincerely,
Lynn Bub. Amanda Pound, and the SFES Staff

Spring Learning Adventures

Second grade went on a field trip to Maywood. Students learned about plants and the importance that pollinators have in our ecosystem.

A Note from Falcon Families of SFES
A friendly reminder from the Falcon Families of SFES:

Our Milk Moola contest runs through May 24th (before the long Memorial Day weekend.) Write your teacher’s name on the bag so the class can receive credit for the Popsicle contest! Good luck!
ABC Countdown Fun

Our ABC Countdown to summer break has officially begun! Whether B for Baseball, H for Hat, or K for Kindness, students participate in activities
that align with the letters of the alphabet.

A Note from our Nurses
As summer approaches we fill our calendars with fun, vacations, relaxations and appointments. As we close the current school year and prepare for the 2018-2019 school year please make time to get all the necessary appointments done ahead of time.

Doctors visits: physicals, Immunizations, medication forms, etc

Dental visits: see your family dentist
or
fill out paperwork to participate in the School Dental Program we offer here at school.

Vision: be on the lookout for squinting, complaints about blurry vision, headaches, worsening performance at school, short attention span, losing one’s place when reading, avoidance with reading, and turning head from side to side when looking at something.

Take time to schedule these appointments ahead of time to avoid the rush and stress at the beginning of a school year. We want your children at school, ready to learn. Please contact your school nurses if you have any questions or need help finding access to care.
