SFES Communicator – November 4, 2021

November 4, 2021
Message from the Principals
We hope everyone was able to enjoy a fun-filled weekend. All of our classes are in full swing and students have been working hard to meet their grade level standards. As the calendar has turned to November we have a lot of big things happening at the elementary school.

  • Parent Conferences and the Scholastic Book Fair are highlights of the first week of November. Check out the details below!

  • Note that we have a number of students not dressed for our chilly weather during their recesses. We play outside every day the temperature is above zero! Please make sure to send students to school with appropriate coats and hats. If you need any support with this please reach out to Nikki Humski at [email protected] .

Thank you, as always, for your partnership in supporting every student on their learning path.

Lynn Bub, SFES Principal
Dave Pieters, SFES Associate Principal
Update from Superintendent Bennin
Here we are, having just turned the calendar to November … which means we have wrapped up our first quarter, parent-teacher conferences are underway, the high school musical is premiering tonight, and the days and nights are getting chilly!

As we enter this new season and new quarter, I want to thank you for your dedication to the district and for your partnership and collaboration as we foster an environment for your children to continue growing socially, emotionally, and academically.

Should you have feedback for the district, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Stay Warm and Healthy,
Annalee Bennin
Book Fair Fun!
Need to do some Holiday shopping? Consider BOOKS from our Scholastic Book Fair. Students will have an opportunity to visit the book fair during library lessons November 2nd – 9th. The Book Fair will also be open during Parent Conferences! It is located in the Recharge Room (former computer lab) next to the Elementary Library.

You can also shop online HERE.
Parent Conferences
A reminder that our Parent-Teacher Conferences are right around the corner on November 4th and 9th. This is an excellent opportunity to hear about your child’s learning path and partner with school for everyone’s success.

HERE is the link to sign up, it’s not too late!
Fall Social Learning
Thank you for helping us connect traditional fall celebrations to our learning! Our 4K through 2nd grade students chose a story book character and a book to tie to reading, while 3rd and 4th grade students enjoyed science and social studies themes in their dress-up. This is a long-standing tradition at SFES, and we are so excited to keep the learning going while enjoying special events.

From the Nurses …
Reminder from the Nurses: If your child is absent and being tested, when returning to school, please send along a copy of the negative COVID result. This can be a paper copy or digital. Our emails are: [email protected] and/or [email protected]. Not sending along results will delay your child from being able to join their class.
