A Message from the Principals

Fall is upon us which means that we have already dug into our new school year and are working hard toward our goals!  Be sure to ask your child about number corner, math manipulatives, phonics, or any of their specials!  Asking specifics about your child’s day helps them share their learning with more detail and gain confidence.

Thank you, as always, for your partnership in educating our students.

Lynn Bub, SFES Principal

Dave Pieters, SFES Associate Principal

Staff spent time last week reviewing our drill purpose and procedures with students. We will follow this with a drill this week. In case you missed it, here is family information about our drill, and access to the presentation we use in the classroom. Please contact the office or your child’s teacher with questions about our safety drills and procedures.

Did you know we are on Facebook? Instagram? And even Twitter!?!? We love our community, and as a team, we want to keep you updated on all the great things happening within the District. Thus, we have launched new and updated social media profiles on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Use the QR code below for details or find them HERE.

ES Life Lately … Ways to Engage

Know a Helper? We Need Readers and Listeners!

Every day our students work on their reading and math fluency and stamina.  Some of our students could use someone to authentically listen to them read or take turns practicing their reading fluency.  Do you know a grandparent, auntie or uncle, neighbor or friend who could spare a small amount of time each week?  We would love to have you work with our readers / listeners.  A volunteer background check is required and can be found HERE.  Reach out to us at 920-467-7820 for more information.

TITLE I FAMILY TIME

We have begun our Title I Family Events this fall.  These events serve our school and district engagement goals and are a great chance to see your child in action at school!  We invite families to come to learn about our math and literacy curriculums and supports, and briefly visit the classroom to see part of our day.  If you couldn’t join us this time, check out our Title information HERE and check out some photos below.

Another great opportunity to engage as our partners in education is at Parent-Teacher Conferences! They are quickly approaching (as noted above – November 3rd, 10th and additional 4K times on November 17th).  Sign up HERE.

Families are our students’ first teachers and our partners in supporting children’s mathematical thinking and identity.  See HERE for ideas for home learning (page 1, green column).
